From today new npower customers have the chance to opt for a 7% saving by choosing to switch to npower's new Football Saver tariff.

Launched to celebrate npower's new partnership with the Football league, its appeal will go beyond football supporters as it's the cheapest direct debit deal available offline for dual fuel customers*.

'npower Football Saver' is guaranteed to be 7% cheaper than npower standard direct debit rates until 30 September 2011.

And….for all Leicester City supporters there's an added bonus - A £45 voucher to spend in the City Megastore, to put towards match tickets, official merchandise or even towards the cost of a 2010-2011 season ticket.

'npower Football Saver' is on average £68 per year cheaper than the British Gas standard monthly direct debit dual fuel offering, and over £90 cheaper than the Scottish & Southern Energy equivalent.

All average national prices based on medium consumption 20,500kwhs gas & 3,300kwhs electricity. Savings vary by region. Prices include direct debit discounts and VAT.

Giuseppe Di Vita, managing director of customer markets at npower said:

"When designing this tariff we wanted to achieve two goals; first to lend a hand to local football clubs across the country, second to offer a competitive offline tariff for new npower customers.

"We've scored on both fronts with the free £45 voucher to be spent at club shops, maybe towards the new season's football shirt, and with the cheapest direct debit offering available offline to average customers."
