lanxfox Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 No (did go to Sunderland though, you may count that but I won't), but me personally I don't like him at all. No it's not because he is an ex Derby player. But from last season yes there is glimpses but most of the time it's backwards and sideways or a long ball. So unless his mentality has changed I don't want him in our team. We need players who can play a ball forward but can shake things up. I agree, Oakley is well past it and should be dropped!
Karljohn Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 Have you actually attended any games this season to base that opinion on? He's shown glimpses of what he can do, as have many others. I think it's only a matter of time before it clicks. It was evident yesterday that there is something missing between our support and Oakley, he came over to take 2 (very poor) corners in front of us to muted applause, then relinquished corner duty to Wellens who was greeted by much louder shouts and applause, to a neutral you would have thought Richie was club captain. My missus reckons his haircut is based on Berbatov on a lighter note.

Why does Oakley get all the stick when we dont do well? I didnt go to Burnley but the first 2 games he played well IMO, just as good, if not better than any of our other midfielders. People seem to use him (and Neilson) as scapegoats. Maybe if you watch the game rather than magic up an opinion of every player you might see that

The whole team is to blame about yesterday's result from what people are saying.
