davieG Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 ......who will be playing tomorrow knowing, with the signings and the speculation that their days as a 1st teamer and even as a Leicester City player are numbered. Let's hope it motivates rather than de-motivates them. Most on here seem to be assuming that this will all have an immediate positive affect despite the many claims that Sousa made too many changes too quickly I for one am concerned that with the overwhelming pressure and expectation to win, the new players, the media attention, the Pearson factor, the Sven factor the next few games could be a massive anti-climax. But then I'm naturally a glass half empty type of person.
Edmund Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 At least the players we're bringing in are proven at this level unlike Sousa's signings who were unheardof. Playing a natural midfielder in a centre back position ala Moreno over Morrison dents confidence in a squad and player but at least if a player is dropped because of class then you'd like to think that they would work harder to improve and challenge for the spot. Players should be expected to fight for a place throughout their career and I'm fully confident Sven and DF know what their doing and will go about it the right way. It was always inevitable that there was going to be a transitional stage and I think managers like Sven's decisions will be respected more by the players than say under Sousa. Oakley and Howard will inevitably the next two players to be shipped out and this has to be done without wrecking squad harmony.

I'm guessing Howard's extension has been put on hold since Sousa left. As much I love the effort which Stevie puts in, he's not championship contender material. Strikers = goals full stop.

Lillehamring Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 i think he should get a coaching role alsp i beileve he wont cut it anymore i think hes a real harty players and the younger players need someone like that we can't sign every 'decent lad' that comes through the club as a coach. howard as a coach is laughable, for all his good qualities, technique and application are two traits sadly missing.
