scott_gunnell Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 What a sad twat! Football pundit, more like talking bollocks, This would be the same man who left us for the mighty Brum and cash and left them for Blackburn for even more cash to be near his mum and dad even though Brum was nearer?? Both have done very well out of football fair play to them, but i think one is just a little bit more successful than the other, as for Sven's recent record 1.Mexico, wasn't wanted in the 1st place with major issues behind the scenes his job was to get them into the world cup finals which they did. 2. Notts County brought in to get them promoted, how can he be blamed that the owners having no money, he waved goodbye to millions when he left them, ask any Notts County fan what they think of him, they also got promoted. 3. Ivory Coast took over at the last minute and put in a group with Brazil,Portugal & North Korea in which they were expected to finish 3rd. Star striker Drogba got injured and played with an arm injury, got a decent draw with Portugal and after Brazil only beat N Korea 2-1 wouldn't have expected Portugal to stuff them 7-0 which basically meant they had to beat Brazil and lost, no shame in that i wouln't have fancied England to qualify from that group. Again all reports suggest the Ivory Coast were happy with him. Since his arrival we have become the hottest club in the championship, this week he's brought in about £15 million of talent on loan neither Sousa or Pearson would have attracted these players. So Robert you,ve gone down in opinion but like they say "it,s better to be quiet and thought an idiot than open your mouth and remove all doubt" TTFN Paul This is a very good post. It proves that Savage, like to many pundits, judge without all the facts. They maybe don’t have time to look into the roots of a situation so they simply judge what’s on the surface. Its easy to say that Sven job hops, but its very unfair when you follow his career and you know the facts. 1) England - He wanted to stay. So they paid him whilst McClaren crashed us out of 2008 (Sven topped the qualifiers of all 3 groups major tournaments) 2) Man City - He was sacked after reaching the top 10 target (Beat United twice, got them into Europe) 3) Mexico - He was paid to take them to the World Cup however was sacked during his campaign (Was sacked whilst in a position that could have qualified them still) 4) Notts County - He left after being ripped off by con men (He was the last man standing trying to fight for the Notts county dream) 5) Ivory coast - was agreed as a temporary contract (He left them up the FIFA rankings and they wanted him to stay) In other words, Savage, do your homework mate or stay quiet
Suffolk_fox Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 I do have good memories of Robbie playing for us, but he was never a legend in my eyes. He was a player in a legendary team, with true legends like Muzzy, Lennon etc. I thought Robbie was a breath of fresh air during the World Cup, commentating on the New Zealand v Italy game, he really livened it up with his unorthodox style, but just cos someone is different it doesn't make them good. He said he wants to be the next Gary Lineker - Well, sorry son but Gary has so much that you don't - brains, wit, knowledge of the game. He was also a skilful player, not just a hatchet man who could run for 90 mins.
