stockyfox Posted 14 December 2010 Author Posted 14 December 2010 deary me OP, topps tiles haven't been sponsors for a year and a half now. Quite so and with that very point in mind at last Saturday's match, I was surprised at just how many folk were wearing clothing still sporting 'Topps Tiles', something I'd not really been aware of during my previous seven visits to the Walkers plus a couple of 'away' games this season. We are now in the age of 'Burrda' sponsorship and having spent another half hour in a yet again packed Megastore with the queue for the tills longer than that for the ticket office or turnstiles, I just wondered why this was so. Was it due to the lasting quality of that clothing or was it down to cost of old v new OR!!!!! Was it because it had been a year and a half since some of these folk had last been to see the City? I remember gates of regularly well over 30 thousand plus at Filbert Street in the 50's and 60's, so these days, why do we struggle to fill the Walkers every game with a capacity of 32,500? However, if we continue to play like we did in the second half last Saturday, we might struggle to buy a ticket to get in, in the not too distant future.

Price Alternative entertainment (media) Amount of football on telly
stockyfox Posted 14 December 2010 Author Posted 14 December 2010 Price Alternative entertainment (media) Amount of football on telly I would most certainly agree with 'Price'. It is not cheap to watch any football match these days and when there are family members in tow or like me, you add on travel costs, it demands a significant part of one's weekly budget. But there again, in my neck of the woods, Man Utd recently extended their seating capacity so they could accommodate 73,000 or more!
