Clive Redman Posted 18 March 2011 Posted 18 March 2011 "City needed to show character against Scunthorpe last weekend and that’s exactly what they did. The pitch was a mess, but the Foxes ground out a cracking 3-0 victory over a side that were well up for a battle. "Paul Gallagher showed just how vital his delivery is to the team, whipping in a cracking corner, a teasing cross and a clever short free-kick to create the goals. We needed the players to step up to the plate and Miguel Vitor certainly did that with two brave finishes inside the box. The boots were flying in, but he made sure he got to the ball first and when the team is struggling for a bit of form, the defenders need to do their bit by grabbing crucial goals. "When Gally, Richie Wellens and Andy King are in the team we always look more likely to score and keeping those three fit for the remainder of the campaign will be vital. "Kyle Naughton is a class act and has been one of City’s best players this season and it was nice to see him add to his tally, bagging his fifth league goal of the season - not a bad return for a full-back. It was good that the defence kept a clean sheet, particularly on their travels, and that will give the attacking players confidence to take more risks going forward."
