I think Robinson obviously gives something more in attack and is a decent defender. Hill has to be there if fit because he gives so much to the team. Would have liked to put Back in but have him on the bench for the first test and see how Williams does.

As i say maybe give him a start in the first game and if he doesn't play well put Back in.
C-man Posted 16 June 2005 Author Share Posted 16 June 2005 I would start with Backy, but definatley have Williams on the bench. And I cant believe Woodward has put out such a weak team for saturday

Hazza Posted 17 June 2005 Share Posted 17 June 2005 15. Josh Lewsey 14. Geordan Murphy 13. Brian O'Driscoll 12. Gavin Henson 11. Gareth Thomas 10. Jonny Wilkinson 9. Dwayne Peel 1. Gethin Jenkins 2. Shane Byrne 3. Julian White 4. Paul O'Connell 5. Ben Kay 6. Richard Hill 7. Neil Back 8. Martin Corry I originally wanted Shane Williams on the wing but he hasn't really done enough to warrant a start. Jason Robinson hasn't had a great season by his standards but he's worth bringing on for the last 20 or so if we're in trouble, or even just to round off a victory (hopefully it'll be that one) with his running at a tiring defence. Murphy, Lewsey and Thomas are worth their spots anyway, and the centres pick themselves. Hill is world class, Back showed his importance last saturday and Corry should've been in even if Dallaglio was still there after his past season for me. Hodgson's the only one challenging Jonny for the #10 but his season was inconsistent at best, i wouldn't have complete faith in him in a Test Match of this magnitude. toonboy Posted 19 June 2005 Share Posted 19 June 2005 My revised team after the Southland team has been announced: 15.Lewsey 14.Thomas 13.O'Driscoll 12.Wilkinson 11.Robinson 10.Jones 9.Peel 1.Jenkins 2.Byrne 3.White 4.O'Connell 5.Kay 6.Hill 7.Back 8.Corry Henson isnt playing so i guess the plan is have Wilkinson at centre. I've changed my mind about Williams and Back because Wiliams has been poor but have him on the bench.
