kayletufu Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Russia/Northwest/Saint-Petersburg/blognha I have celebrated new years in St Peterburg ages ago. St Petersburg has beautiful churches, this is what I remember best, the golden domes against the weak winter sun just lovely. The city center with its magnificient old houses is great for walks. The Erimitage and Winter Palace Museums are worth a days visit, the art museum is of world class, with many Rembrandts etc and a Modern Art Section with Picasso and many other of the great painters of early 20th century greek gal

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Loved the place when I spent 2 days there. Church of Spilled Blood was my personal favorite. Yep me too, fantastic place, as already stated above the Winter Palace, The Hermitage? and The Church on the Spilled Blood are 3 fantastic places worthy of a day or half a day each at least.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 I just couldn't get over the size of the place, it was huge. The Architechture was out of this world. Also the whole river canal system was surprisingly picturesque. Went last summer and it was so hot and no where had air con that was the only down side....that and public transport was difficult to figure out.
