astoriafox Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Don't get me wrong, I think it was wrong to sack Sven so soon as should have been given more time but that does not change the fact that i thought he was the wrong man for our club. The championship is a tough league and i never thought that svens style of man and team management would be suited to us or the league. As a club we are going about trying to get success in completely the wrong way. Pearson was building the club from roots and doing a great job, his squad has been almost entirely dismantled. Look at Pulis and what he has done by building organically. I'm not talking about his style of play but of how he has developed stoke as a club gradually to become a fixture in premier and now Europe. Clubs like Leicester should take note. Money and big names not right way for us to be going. I said when Sven took charge that i was very afraid that it could all go horribly wrong and lead to administration in 2 years with the Thai's pulling out. I really hope Im wrong about the second part! For that reason, with exception of MON I really hope that we get... 1 - Not a big name, but someone who has potential to grow in stature with the club and is striving to prove themselves at this level and higher 2 -A British manager 3 - That we stop trying to buy success and the Thai's show patience that Mandaric and most other chairmen never had / have. I hope that they don't blow too much money too quickly and lose interest. 4 - Look towards developing a solid base and give a manager chance to develop a nucleus of a team which does not chop and change like the seasons 5 - We try to emulate what other clubs of similar stature to ourselves have achieved or are promising to achieve, namely Stoke, Southampton, Norwich and look to achieve success organically (like MON did all those years ago. Whatever happens and who ever is our new manager, he and the club shall have my support and I hope above all else that I am way off the mark with my fears of impending disaster!
