Tommy Posted 25 June 2005 Posted 25 June 2005 Tony Mowbray concedes Hibernian are unable to compete with Leicester City for old boy Ulrik Laursen. The Danish defender is aiming to cancel the final year of his Celtic contract and has been linked with a return to his homeland with OB. Leicester are also interested in the 29-year-old, while a return to Easter Road has also been floated as an option for Laursen. The centre half joined Hibs in 2000, and spent two years at the club before joining Celtic, but Mowbray feels a deal for Laursen is too costly. "Laursen is not somebody we've discussed because I would imagine he would be out of our reach in terms of wages," said the Hibs boss. "Besides, people tell me Leicester are interested in the boy and if they've shown an interest in him we can't compete financially with a team like that in the English Championship. "He is a Celtic player and I don't want to talk about other clubs' players." Meanwhile, Leicester target Scott Robertson admits he is happy to stay at Dundee, despite the club's relegation from the SPL. The Foxes have been watching the young midfielder but Robertson feels he would be better served by remaining at Dens Park. Robertson said: "It was a compliment to be linked with Leicester. Craig Levein knew about me from his time at Hearts. "One day I would like to play in England. But at the moment I'm just focusing on giving everything to make sure Dundee get back up in the new season."
