Pub breath Posted 9 November 2011 Posted 9 November 2011 Deary me, if that's not a knee-jerk reaction to today I don't know what is. We got outsung by the biggest club in the league whilst losing and playing boring, uninspiring football. We rarely get outsing and we have great away support. Even the Leeds poster on the other thread said it's like a Library at Elland Road these days, and I can second that, as are most grounds these days. It isn't often great at our place but it aint often embarrassing either. Yes. By and large it's true, but more this season than any other because of the Bates factor. This was QPR last season: It was like that most of the game too. A few seasons ago we played Southend. Bloody Southend and the atmosphere was sensational for some reason and the Southend fans said they'd never seen or heard anything like it. Arsenal came last season and Fabregas said it was the best atmosphere he'd heard at an English ground. When it's rocking, ER is an incredible arena to be at still but that sort of noise and volume just doesn't seem achievable this season for whatever reason but mainly the Bates factor I suspect. The atmosphere at Elland Road hasn't gone forevere, it's just taken a wee holiday.
