Guest Col city fan Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 Yeh this is true. The idea that stability breeds success is a myth. Picking the right manager breeds success. I still hope Pearson is the right one. But Sven was the wrong one for me, as were all our other managers since Adams took us up. We have largely picked shit managers over the last few years, which has led to poor performances and league positions, which has led to sackings. Or they fell out with Mandaric (but we didn't like him either) or they went to Prem clubs. There is a right time to change and there is a wrong time to change. Right now is certainly the wrong time. I find myself continually agreeing with you at present. This is spot on IMO. I have said it before and I'll say it again... Sven has done an awful lot of damage to Leicester City Football Club. He has saddled us with players who we are going to find it very very difficult to offload. It's going to take a brave manager to sign the likes of Beckford on big wages with his dire record this season.. Same with Mills, given the reputation he seems to have developed for himself. Sven appeared to lose the dressing room, had little tactical ability and bought a completely imbalanced squad. It was going to be very very difficult for ANY manager to turn this around though, I do accept, Pearson has not exactly set the club alight.. which has surprised me somewhat to be honest. Is Pearson the answer? Well even a big Nige fan, such as myself, is wondering why the Hell he didn't bring in another striker in the transfer window? Tactically he seems to have lost the plot at present too... Why on earth he is sanctioning this ridiculous long kick down to Beckford who can't control shit is making me shudder. However, I am still of the opinion that Nigel will turn this shower around, given the summer and some funds. The problem may be the difficulty he has getting rid of the rubbish... And we do have Sven to blame for this. It's a bloody mess at present and I think I heard a little bit of doubt even in Niges voice yesterday. He's a worried man, I think.. And the job he took on is proving to be bigger than even he thought it would be IMO. I'm pretty sure he will go if he hasn't radically improved things given 10 games or so next season.
NeilyBoy Posted 11 March 2012 Posted 11 March 2012 It wasn't another striker that we needed Pearson to bring in but another winger to give us a balanced midfield which was more likely to create the chances which simply aren't being made right now - Delfouneso was supposed to be the answer to this maybe? Nugent's generally done great with what he's been given but clearly Beckford needs the chances to be provided to him rather than forging them himself.

Someone to make and take his own chances every so often. The Fonz never got the chance really did he? A million on Darius Henderson? Jason Roberts on loan? A million for Ched Evans? Any of these three would have been realistic signings for the club and IMO could have made a big difference. What did Nige do? Went out and spent another mill on another centre back? Mistaken priorities... And it's come back to bite him on the arse.

So he hasn't exactly impressed just yet, but it takes time for players to settle in, we should know that by now, look how long it took SSL. Marshall has talent, it was shown at Sheffield Wednesday. He will improve but we gotta be patient. Did you not notice the improvement in Beckford and Nugents partnership when Delfouneso came in?
