can't find an existing thread, so aplogies if there is one already.

good race yesterday, looked as if stoner was going to walk it at one stage, but all credit to lorenzo - he stuck at it and it paid off. stoner was complaining of 'arm pump' (when the tendons swell), whether it was just an excuse i don't know.

most dissapointing was Rossi's performance, another poor result on the Ducati. hope he gets it sorted, need another front runner, plus with his past success it would be a shame to end his carreer as just another runner in the championship.

on another note the new moto three class looks good, being 250 cc four strokes, they sound better that the 125's.

begining to whish i hadn't given up marshalling for the gp and world superbikes this year. hmmm, might sign up again!

The final few laps of the MotoGP race was very good, especially after everyone thought Stoner was going to walk it. Pedrosa is a demon starter, 7th to 1st at one point.

The Moto2 race was an epic and IMO it is a much more exciting series than the premier class, has been for at least the last two years I've been watching.

yes, unfortunately your right. Shame more bikes haven't entered the premier class, obviously too expensive. still, should be more interesting with the addition of the less powerful bikes (CRT?) to fill the grid.

great result for Cal Crutchlow, even though he is a Sky Blue!!!!!

Another good ride from Cal Crutchlow last weekend, wonder if we'll get a british winner this year. can't remember last one, but it was bloody years ago!!!

Another disaster for Rossi, bike or rider?

Moto 3 was a crash fest, unfortunately had the track at it's worst - damp patches at crucial points.

popular thread this, isn't it!!!!

Good to see Cal doing well. Been following him since he won the British super sport championship in 2006. I'll be marshalling the British moto gp inJune. Get to chose which corner I stand at aswell !

Great rides from Crutchlow in MotoGP and Roman Fenati in Moto3. The latter is only 16 and he won by over 30 seconds in his second ever Moto3 race!

Cal is doing awsome, just have to forget that he's from Cov. Rossi was due to test a new engine today which should help, but there were signs of improvement yesterday.

Not sure what smith has done to warrent a MotoGP ride next season though.............

Smith did really well on a 125 and did well last season , but struggling this season so far. He is up against some top quality riders in moto 2. Who would you drop at tech 3 next season, both quality riders

Well, if Spies doesn't pull his finger out they'll be a space in the factory squad for either Cal or Dovi next season. Smith would partner whoever stays in Tech 3, but Cal has defo done enough to warrant a stay in MotoGP.

IMO Reading has shown more promise than Smith.

Anyway, how is the F1 thread sixteen pages long and this isn't even one when MotoGP is clearly better than F1???

The Moto2/3 races were fantastic. If you have a spare 10 minutes, check out the last 2 laps of both races on the iplayer.

Casey Stoner has announced that he's retiring from MotoGP at the end of the season. Im not a fan of him but he really is a great rider and he will probably be seen as a legend in years to come.

Shocked at this :o

Same here tbh. He's not exactly old at 26, is he? I think the death of Simoncelli may have caused many of the riders to consider their own mortality.

I also believe it has something to do with his wrists and arms, the pump arm that he has been suffering recently has been around for a couple of years and getting worse and make effect his future.

It's a brave descion but he is going out on top and he is a family man at heart. Hope he goes on and wins the season.

Good to see Rossi doing well again, even if it is a one off. Dissapointed for Cal, who looked really strong until his off. The Moto3 race was crazy, the leading 5 riders all went off within a few laps with each other and only 15 of the 33 starters finished. The guy in last place had crashed twice himself.

Motorbike racer Mark Buckley has died in a crash at the North West 200 today. RIP.

very sad. pure road racing (street circuits) is always going to be dangerous, but some riders prefer it. Guy Martin for instance, very rarely rides on circuits.

It was good to see Rossi on the podium, it was obviously the track conditions which helped, but maybe it will give him more confidence in the bike.

Funny you should say that, I actually saw and spoke to him on the grid at Cadwell Park (great circuit) a couple of weeks ago when he took part in a couple of 'one-off' races with the CRMC (Classic Motorcyle Racing Club - http://www.crmc.co.uk/). I'm a start line/grid marshall with the club.

good bloke isn't he? CRMC is great, love to watch them, especially the outfits. never marshalled for them - my loss! might have a go this year, when are they at mallory/donny? are they short of marshalls, most clubs seem to be now, everyone wants the 'glamour' of BSB etc. Doing EMRA, North Gloucs and some bsb's plus moto gp and WSB. funny, enjoy club racing the most.
