willy37 Posted 18 August 2005 Posted 18 August 2005 just wondering if anyone is going either of the festivals this year? or any other festivals. ive been leeds the past 3 years- all been quality weekends! im quite bummed out about the transplants pulling out though! they would have owned the lock up stage!
Alexikokopops Posted 18 August 2005 Posted 18 August 2005 I went in 2003 and 2004, going this year. Hooray.
Deathside Posted 21 August 2005 Posted 21 August 2005 Leeds is a permanant fixture in my calander Willy - I take it from your post that you'll be at Leeds again this year? Alex - You didn't specify if you'll be at Leeds or Reading? - But as you live north of Leicester I guess it's Leeds Anyways if you guys are going to be at Leeds and you fancy meeting up with me & Mrs Deathside for a vodka or 2 (Either in the arena or on the campsite) PM me and I'll give you my mobile number 4 days to go and counting................

Two and a half years ago my mate Kate said "Fancy going to Reading this year" so we did. Why Reading I don't know.

willy37 Posted 23 August 2005 Author Posted 23 August 2005 means we get decent loos, dont have 2 que to get in 2 the arena and can hang out backstage with the bands n stuf, i bagged it off radio1. basically i won a comp for tickets 2 wasted festival a few months back- i never recieved the tickets so they sent me tickets 2 leeds to make up for it, im more than happy!
Deathside Posted 23 August 2005 Posted 23 August 2005 That's pretty cool - especially the no queue to get in Two years I missed a band I wanted to see because there was such a bottle neck at the entrance - By the time I got in they had finished their set - I think it was Funeral For A friend?
TrickyTrev Posted 23 August 2005 Posted 23 August 2005 I'm off to Reading tommorow. Will be my 3rd Reading, is always a good crack and this years lien up is a massive improvement on the last years mediocraty. Pixies and The Arcade Fire here I come!
Hotel_Coral___Essex Posted 23 August 2005 Posted 23 August 2005 im off to leeds on thursday 2nd leeds in a row and i was at reading year before tha all about senses fail, death from above 1979 and emanuel this year
Phil Posted 24 August 2005 Posted 24 August 2005 I had to choose because of lack of money between doing V Festival or Reading. no one wanted to do Reading so choose V Festival instead it was the cheaper option because I live half hour walk from the site so I dont need to camp and only need to pay for one meal a day on the site.
Who ate all the pies? Posted 24 August 2005 Posted 24 August 2005 No tickets when I looked a bit back so I booked Pukkel pop! Still I did Pukkel Pop and Summer Sundae perhaps next year!
TrickyTrev Posted 29 August 2005 Posted 29 August 2005 Though I would bump this up on my return. I smell of smoke and sweat, I haven't been for a shit or a tug in 5 days, my alcohol system is contaminated with blood and I'm knackered. I love it! Had an amazing time, met soem really cool people and saw some great gigs. Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire and The Pixies being my highlights.

Yeah, it was FFAF, they opened on the Concrete Jungle stage as it was then in 2003. We passed it and felt quite glad we didn't like them.
