Fosse Boy Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 Anyone else a regular Bottle Kicker? Medbourne FTW. It's gonna be our year this year I can feel it...
Edmund Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 Ahh the Hallaton bottle kicking. Always wanted to attend one of these.

It really ought to be on one of these "50 things to do before you die" programmes. Funnily enough, my dad's from Great Easton, only a couple of miles away, but he's never been. Get my Medbourne roots from my mum's side though, I qualify through the same rule that Jack Charlton often enforced when he was Ireland boss - "The Grandparent Rule".

Yeah it's just down the road from me but have never made it for one reason or another. Looks like loads of fun and a big piss up afterwards.
Asha Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 Looks hilarious. Would be great fun to get in the middle of that and start throwing my weight around.

It's only ever been cancelled once in its thousand odd year history... ... during the 2001 Foot & Mouth crisis. But yeah, I think most people are amazed that it's still allowed to go on like it does.

Rightly so though IMO, theyre all consenting adults I assume and its probably far less dangerous than a Friday night out in the City centre
Corky Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 AFIE, stick around Filbert Way and there may be a game with the Leeds fans involved
Fosse Boy Posted 9 April 2009 Author Posted 9 April 2009 AFIE, stick around Filbert Way and there may be a game with the Leeds fans involved Would that be Leeds fans scrabbling around looking for some sort of evidence that they're still a massive club? Think I should be OK to make it to Hallaton for the first bottle at 3.15. Going straight there from the game.
Fosse Boy Posted 13 April 2009 Author Posted 13 April 2009 Hallaton won 2-0. <_< Still. Nothing can take the smile off my face after beating Leeeeeeeeds today. And I'm a bit pisshed...
