Well before we announced Enzo (or Coady, for that matter), I was told that we had a finished a laughable deal with Coady. 
 

That’s not to say Enzo didn’t bless the signing but I do believe he was a player targeted by those already at the club, and that we were signing Coady with or without Enzo.
