The next 2 games are very key to the rest of the season for us. Lose or draw to the blades would be a disaster but more importantly the Stoke game is vital. The bottom 12 have all picked up just look at the results: Watford v Chelsea, Swansea recently and now Newcastle. Stoke too look really up for it and we will have to be on it all over the park to get a win. Start like we have done against Man C and second half vs Swansea and we could face another Palace at home situation.
Puel and Appleton will have to get the players focussed, no sloppiness, don’t concede set pieces etc etc.

Well done Vards - keeps churning out the performances ,soften being the lone striker creating bits and pieces out of not too much. Creates his own penalties too! I hope he stays for a couple more years as he has been our most consistent and dangerous player since the Great Escape season.

We thought we were better than we actually are. Our current form is bottom five along with Burnley so we better pull the collective fingers out or the dross of this league will have caught up with us again.

This is a * hit or bust game now. Lets put our best foot forward shall we. Strongest team though would be OK with Jakopuvic in goal, Amartey at right back. Happy enough with Gray as long as he don't spit his dummy out, Iborra's calmness on the ball but would like to see Mahrez made captain and put the onus squarely on his shoulders now to do something after the shenanigans of the last fortnight.

Well I hope Puel is putting all our eggs in the FA Cup basket now. We were poor today no doubt about it and unfortunately got Man City before the Champions League starts up again.
I hope we are on it on Friday night and it doesn't become a Fright Night! I also hope he doesn't play a weak side with the likes of Benny the Kick and co. Nacho on with Vardy up front please and for pity sake get a grip lads.

£50m was well below the value. £50m + player with little experience in Prem was not £65m despite Man City’s view.
Our club was right to turn it down especially that late in the window. Mahrez is contracted to play so get on with it man. No deal that’s my final offer.

With every day that ticks by it’s less likely he will ever play again with the current impasse. Of course he should play as he’s contracted to do so and to be honest we need a fully focused Mahrez not a moping minnie. I can’t see him playing again and don’t think Puel will take kindly to the antics. Bad all round I think

Anyone fathom an idea as to why Silva didn't start? What does he have to do ?
He played Saturday so maybe Puel don't want to force him with his lack of real game time up till now. I hope he plays against Swansea though we need his creativity assuming Riyadh is allowed to "rot" or has thrown out the dummy.

We need a striker, there's an hour to go, let's get on the phone to Carlos Kick-a-Ball and see if wants to join us. We've pushed Ulloa, Musa and nearly got Slimani out the door so come on let's see someone come in and make sure we're not 14 seconds behind the deadline!!!
-
Worst performance of the season. Real questions all over the park and we should have lost 4-1 against in my view a poor team. I knew this would happen after today's transfer farces. Now we play Swansea when they will be cock-a-hoop after their win over Arsenal, This will be an important match and I fancy lumping on to the Swans to insure compensation on a miserable saturday.
-
I fear it will be 3-0 in first few minutes, game over ********
-
Where's Andy King when we need him?
Need more square and backwards passing.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry but we need someone to get hold of things and inspire. No one is doing that ifs

Defo loss tonight after Mahrez affair today. There on bad form we’re on a roll so it will be all change tonight. Sorry lads ?
-
To be fair the guy owes us nothing and indeed Leicester will have made a tidy profit out of him. I am pained to see him go as many others are saying we won't see another like him with that level of skill and brilliance probably in my lifetime but business is business.
Let's get to the FA Cup Final and win that then he may regret leaving as soon as he did.

We already bought a replacement, he scored two past Peterborough

Yeah but not so fast. Do you think Mahrez was listening to the pundits (Danny Murphy etc.) on Match of the Day who were saying Diabete looks the natural replacement for Mahrez? Then he thinks? maybe I can go now, I'll hand in a transfer request...

Winner of millwall vs Rochdale, another league one side. Do our business professionally and hope the other big sides take each other out
Got to be Millwall or Rochdale away. Hopefully the lions so we can get even after last year. I say away cos I can’t remember the last time we had a home draw. I think Newcastle in 2014/15 great escape year 3rd round 1-0 Ulloa ?

I had high hopes for Slim, whom I like a lot, but it requires another style of play and Puel has other ideas. I never wrote Nacho off, but he's still far away from pretending to a start place as a striker. So until then we're pretty much stuck with Vardy. And for some reason I like it that way.
I fear that Nach could end up like Jermaine Beckford. Talented yes but equally frustrating and possibly has attitude issue. I hope that’s not the case here cos he’s young. Needs to listen to Albrighton who had to wait till end of Pearson’s great escape season to get a crack.

Vardy is quality for us. He plays that lone striker role so well.
N'didi was superb and if he continues to develop the way he is, we will have one hell of a player!
Maty James is getting better, very pleased for him.
Maguire was a collosus and Dragovic put in a steady showing.
They stifled Riyhad well but his class showed in the end.
Albrighton had a good second half.
Chilly was solid enough.
Watford must detest Mahrez as I think he’s now scored in 5 out of the last 6 games against them. Class...

He did great tonight. Probably the best player on the pitch after Maguire.
Agree the lone striker role against a bunch of bruisers is a thankless task. I can’t fault the effort and he has the nuts to take a penalty when we were missing Iborra and Fuchs as possible takers. His commitment to the club should be welcomed too. Nice one JV.

am i right in thinking 7th spot qualifies for a spot in europe
Depends on whether any team other than Bristol win the Carabao Cup and one of the current top six win the FA Cup. If that’s the case 7th is good enough for Europe. Course I’d rather we won the FA Cup and did it that way. :-)

I’m a little concerned about the lack of attacking fullbacks in our lineup. There’s a big onus on Dem and the skipper to conjur something up here. Our two Iberian centre mids are hardly workhorses so who’s going to get the ball back when Benny or Jako punt it long? And I hope we have named our penalty takers l!
Sorry for negativity but that’s where I begin with Leicester City.

Decent side looking forward to seeing silva
Yes a mere £80m plus on the pitch and a paltry £36m or so on the bench. That should do it don’t you think?

People are talking like we're already through.
Let yesterday be another lesson in expectations.
Palace and Watford should have been lessons learnt about not turning up but obviously it's still not hitting home.
(I appreciate the examples were different players, different teams, but it's the same principle and the whole squad should be learning)
I sensed after 30 secs watching the game that we were 1) not up for it and 2) it would be a long and hard afternoon. We were off the pace everywhere and I was surprised we snaffled a replay. I stuck £100 on for us to win the FA Cup and I feel that is as good as gone given our p*ss poor performance. As to the draw it may not matter cos I remember going to see Huddersfield at home when they beat us in a replay.
Unless we take it seriously we are wasting our time.
I'd like Forest away but I am not sure we will get that far. :-(

Sky bet go 4/6 that Riyad goes to Liverpool with some of the Coutinho money. I think this means he’s going. I sure hope we have a replacement lined up. Somehow I think we haven’t.

Lose and we are goosed.
Interesting theory of history repeating itself here with Puel. Last year his team finished 8th and he took team to a Wembley final albeit League not FA Cup. Then he got sacked.
This year we finish 8th and get to final and put up great performance and lose a classic to Man C or Man U. I’d take that now but would not support him losing his job.
