I am certainly falling out of love with FT, half the posts seem to be written by folks with short memories and a dubious or highly selective grasp of what is known and what isn't.
I have little positive to say because we seem to be in a tailspin as a club, but adding to the toxic negativity on here seems pointless. I'll be back when bile abates.

It's a conspiracy theory, just leave it.

Hmm, not sure if that’s concerning (since little is known about long covid) or one possible explanation for his poor form since leaving Sassuolo
Tested positive for 6 weeks continous and some Riems fans think he has lost a yard or 2 of pace and keeps getting injured. If you want to know what long covid can do I will mention my sister.
Walks with a stick for the last couple of years, 55 years old, trained nurse. Suggesting she knows little about long covid is underplaying the s**t she is in.

Anyway, I'm going to wait til the deadline closes to comment further on responsibility. I'm sure we all have our theories about what has gone on and why, lets see what tonight brings us.

I doubt it, he has a business to run himself.
Chairmen at most businesses pop to a meeting once a month and are given a very brief overview of the accounts. If anything sticks out 'Susan can you sort that out please'Unless things were going horrifically wrong and we were about to go out of business, no Chairman is involved in the day to day stuff.
No chairman has involvement with important decisions like transfers, are you sure?

He has people in charge of the business that he trusts to run that side of things, if they've dropped the ball it's on them not him. It's not like they're people he hired, he went with continuity.
You could possibly accuse him of not being brave and changing the structure (we've missed out on people like Dan Ashworth who could have made a real difference in our structure, especially with the training ground/stadium stuff) by sticking with Rudkin etc.
Surely Top has decent oversight of the money side of the club, and is involved in all the major decisions? I think you may well be right that Top is not quite as ruthless as Vichai, although this is just speculation on my part.

Maybe top wasn’t ready to be in charge of a football club his father was running before the accident but had no choice but to take it on. He might have lots of different people in his ear telling him things and doesn’t know what to do where as vichai might have had more of a clue who to trust and not trust.
I think you have a very good point. Expecting Top to match his vastly experienced father is asking a lot. I expect club ownership can be a lonely business when things don't go well.
I have the utmost respect for the family but they are only human beings, and can and will make mistakes. This period is probably the toughest since the accident and I'm sure everyone at the club is hurting from it, despite some of the views on here.

No. But I think Top has been badly let down by Rudders and whoever is in charge of financial planning, plus chuck in the entire Recruitment Team as they have performed abysmally this last few windows.
I agree that the responsibility goes across several areas of the club, I'm not trying to throw it all on Top. They collectively pushed the finances and we have got our fingers burnt, perhaps BR's successful start and winning chat sucked the rest of the structure down a rabbit hole.
I'm sure we have learned big lessons and with the expiry of many contracts next summer, if we can hang on this season we should get a proper refresh.

Vichai didnt have to navigate a pandemic. I think there is some really hard realism baked into this window. We are skint.
If it was just the pandemic, why are no other clubs struggling like we are? I think Vichai was almost certainly more careful than Top, much as I recognise the terrible sacrifice the family has made.
I don't like criticising Top, but being an outlier on wages didn't just happen overnight, the money side of the club should have been more careful.

Let’s say it how it is. Rudders, The Recruitment Team and BR are all complicit to varying degrees.
Out of interest, do you think Vichai would have let us get into this situation?
I think the answer is probably not, so I would add some responsibility to Top in your list.

Did demiral play in euros last summer alongside soyuncu? If so I remember thinking he looked poor?!
The whole side looked poor compared to qualifying, so I'm hoping that was the manager as much as anything.

Can we please acknowledge we did not pay £30m for him. I'm sure in reality it was closer to £18m and the fee was spun up by Mike Ashley briefing the press.
He's one of the squad players I would least like to offload, but if this gets the ball rolling on getting a right winger in then fair enough. Hopefully it goes through and he tears it up in Spain!
Nobody wants to hear that, doesn't fit the narrative.

But Okazaki was more of a fans favourite because it was seemed he put more work rate in not a million miles apart but perez was rarely given an opportunity centrally
One of the flaws of our model is that we have to play yer Madders because of their potential value, even if others are in better form.

“I can only imagine for the supporters that the club feels like a ball of frustration at the moment. If there’s anyone to take it out on, it’s normally the manager. I’m responsible for results and performances.”

Is it bad that I genuinely am not that bothered? I always viewed Fofana as a player we'd move on quote quickly for a huge fee and I hope we do more of this as it's the only way we really kick start income generation to be to but players year on year.
It's a blessing in disguise this, subject to who on earth we have lined up but we so badly need a right winger and a Fofana replacement and theoretically we aren't in too bad shape then. Enough flexibility to fcuk Rodgers off if we need to too.
He's proven himself to be odious, but he did this when forcing a move to us. Got no real issue with it if the club have a plan on how to negotiate. I never bought the idea it was better to sell next summer when £70-80m on offer right now is just ridiculous.
I wish no ill feeling of him. Thanks for the exceptional performance vs the very team he's going to in the cup final and some other great displays.
Genuinely not arsed.
Nailed it. I'm over him, don't wish him ill but always saw more flaws in his game than most on here.

I think it is fine to be a bit over the top tonight, it has been an window of nightmares for us.
Having said that Fof wasn't the finished article, and will be better when he fills out a bit. I think you could say he has the most raw talent we have seen in a CB, so you aren't far off imho.
