  1. Not really surprising is it - even with those last few games where he looked very very decent he is probably one of the 5 highest earners at the club- 50k a week ish easy - obvious we would sell asap - depends what side of the fence you sit on but could be seen as a good thing that we are already moving the big earners on

For league one and championship he’s a good appointment

Yep I’m having that - iv never seen hatred like it for a bloke that hasn’t even been appointed and I’m still not sure after reading a lot of posts what exactly he’s done wrong to us

I think unfortunately he is the scapegoat for all the frustration of the last few years

I personally hope he does well

Wasn’t he supposed to be off to Spain?

On holiday maybe - no chance anyone out there is picking up his 80k a week

Love him. Club legend and speaks so well. However……. And this might not be popular…….. there is an argument to say he was always the ringleader in the various player takeovers/revolts. I don’t think he always covered himself in glory in that regard.

He probably was - 99% of the time for the right reasons

He then had them well on course for being the worst Prem side in history, even after being given a lot of money to spend to improve his squad

He then got sacked at Rangers for being their worst ever manager

I don't see him being the kind of manager who will go away and learn from his mistakes either

Whoever hires him next (hopefully not us but knowing our clowns in charge it probably will be) will know exactly the way it is going to go

So iv no skin in the game with Martin at all - I get the criticism - the rangers thing was unforgivable and it’s a long way back for anyone after that BUT he wouldn’t be the first guy to just not fit in one place and it goes horribly horribly wrong quickly - the English prem bit I can live with completely- I think we need to remind ourselves we are in league 1 - so not succeeding in the prem is no yard stick to bash him with at all

His Southampton side were tactically one of the worst sides we played that season

We took the piss and battered them in both games

If his chosen tactic doesn't work then he hasn't got a clue, and will throw the blame at his players as well

Kind of true however they came out and tried to play and score against us and that season we were just better at that than them - we really struggles against a low block under maresca- I could look at it in a way that at least they tried to play and have a go - we were just better at it with that team - they were better at it than 19 other teams in the league that season which is why they got promoted

Not sure what's wrong with me. I previously hated the thought of RM being our manager, but I think given the sh*te appointments over the past 2 years the board have weirdly got me thinking it wouldn't be the worst appointment in the world.

Totally get the sideways and backwards concerns, but at least he has a style of football/philosophy unlike all of the useless managers we've had since Enzo left. He does know how to coach a team even if he's a stubborn idealistic tw*t, so I'd have him over Gerrard, Rooney, etc. any day of the week. Will also do my head in listening to his BR inspired soundbites.

It's not an endorsement, but we could do a lot worse in my opinion especially with dumb and dumber making the decision.

Glad I’m not the only one - can’t say I love it either but I certainly don’t hate it over some of the crazy names I’m hearing - let’s face it it’s going to take a miracle to sort us out - at least got a promotion on his cv - could argue all day it’s the most important appointment ever in our history or that it doesn’t matter whilst the owners etc are still crap - just make a bloody decision then back the bloke so this doesn’t become my 3rd most hated season ever watching football after the last 2 years

To be honest I think you are not far off, not a chance he is ever a PL starter.Squad player so we might get £10-12m from some crap team like Cov.

The whole lot of them including him have shown they aren’t even good enough for the championship- and yes some players are better with better players meh meh meh - he was absolutely 100% crap this year - honking beyond belief and an attitude to go with it - good riddance

  10. Not having him at all - blah blah he can beat a man and score a couple of worldies - week in week out at a decent level he is absolutely garbage - possibly our most overrated player since harry winks

if we get 10 million ill personally drive him there whilst singing his crap song to him all the way

  11. This transfer thread is going to be utterly disgusting for the next few months- we literally need a whole new squad and the quality of player is going to be absolutely grim - I don’t even know where to start
