Games like this are rarely entertaining other than for a bit of schadenfreude. Cape Verde are such massive underdogs that the best they can do is park the bus and hope and nobody is going to fault them for that but it's not gonna make the game exciting is it? Spain will get the criticism but there's not really any style of play that's good to watch when your opponent refuse to engage at all and just bet it all on their keeper.

I'm finding this entertaining and suspenseful.  I'll take any heroes I can get in this corrupt (but nonetheless beautiful) tournament.  And I'm inspired by CV's level of effort and disicipline.

God, sounds awful. Exactly what we’ve been saying about people associated with this club putting us down at every opportunity while other clubs talk themselves up until the media accepts them as a big club.

I definitely will not be watching.

Yes, Tanner is insufferable as always . A “journalist” useful only as an apologist for club management, yet so condescending toward its history and fans.

I’d still suggest you watch the doco. It’s hard-hitting only on our emotions as fans. But still really good.

i was expecting vardy to open the bottle with his teeth

Reminds me of a baseball player whose edges were rougher than Vardy's, but burned just as bright for a moment.

Won rookie of the year, but quickly flamed out and is remembered mostly for opening beers with his eye socket,

and for $25 bare knuckle fights in the minor leagues.

Vardy might well have taken a similar path if not for Pearson, Walsh and Shakey.

  4. All credit to the Raps for taking this to a winnable game 7 with so many guys unavailable.  Impressive.

That said, the Cavs are the definition of an easy out in the playoffs.  So mentally weak, they make LCFC look like an elite Special Forces unit in comparison.

Whoever wins game 7 is fodder for Detroit.

  5. A glorious Saturday for Wednesday …

Finally out from under their Thai owner, winning big at home, huge points deduction repealed.  The sun is out for the first time in a long time.

Compare and contrast with Leicester City.

  6. I set an alarm to make sure I watched this.  Even though I couldn't give myself one good reason.

Maybe just because it feels like the end of an era.  Which certainly had its moments.  And it wouldn't be right to swerve the burial.

EDIT:  10 EFL matches streaming and we are not one of them!

I'm not going to look for a virus-infested stream to watch this mess.  And I'm sure as hell not going to watch Wrexham.

    See y'all next season?  Doubtful.

  7. Chase deLauter with four  jacks in his first 3 regular season games … and those aren’t mediocre pitchers in Seattle.

As a lifelong tribe/guards fan, my only preseason predictions were:

    1. Guardians in third place

    2. deLauter to be running away with RotY on June 1st and in the IL for the season by the all star break

They may surprise me on #1, but #2 is written in stone.
