My team would be: Cobb, Smith, Robson, Eckersley, Thakor, O'Brien, Boyce/Styris (if cleared to play, we are trying to get him in for RL50 now Sarwan has gone) Taylor, Raine, Naik, Ireland/Shreck. I'd like to pick Sheikh but I'm not sure where he would fit in. Ireland I think will do well in this form. Eckersley reluctantly picked. Wells I don't think is quite ready. Boyce there to steady the ship and give some energy in the field. Robson is aggressive enough to be in the team for me.

Good news, Sarwan is off and won't be back next season from what I've heard. He's flying back to the Caribbean soon, won't play any further part in this season, seems to me like we've paid him off. Also, Eckersley is almost certain to leave, not fussed though, one good season, very poor this year.

Worcester don't have much money either, they're doing it this season too. No reason why we can't if the club was in the right hands.
-
They should've told the players to earn a new contract, openly in the media. Much like Leicester City did this season. The problem is, we don't have someone brave enough at Grace Road, like Terry Robinson, to make some big calls, it's all a bit too friendly and 'we don't have the money' for me, how can we have money if we spend it on shite like Sarwan, Thornely, Ireland, Boyce, Naik and even Shreck and Styris to some degree. I don't think anything will change unless we are brave enough to get rid of Whitticase and the coaches, and give the reigns to somebody like Nixon, Simmons or Maddy. Passionate cricketers who love the club, who themselves have a good record in cricket, who can motivate the youngsters and get the best out of them. I wonder who we will sign this winter. Can you imagine Whitticase ringing you up and wanting you to play for County, you'd be like hell no, but if that was any of the 3 I said above, you'd jump at the chance!
-
They will be squad players at other counties, not starting every week like they do here even when they are badly off form. I'd only be disappointed to see Robson leave after just a season with us, but again, if he leaves then so be it, I'll get over it if we sign a decent replacement.
-
It depends who we bring in to replace them. We need some experienced players, who can show leadership qualities both in their character and performances. I'm not bothered if players leave now, I'm more concerned about who we sign. The young players were always going to leave us eventually, but it gives us a fresh look to next season, if we can bring in a couple of experienced batsmen, a decent bowler and an overseas bowler we will do better next season.

They won't happen, the club aren't brave enough, same old shite this winter and next season!
-
The thing which pi*ses me off even more is that the club try and hide everything they are doing. Firstly, we play shite almost every game. Secondly, we always have some sort of behind the scenes issue. Thirdly, our lack of success is always put down to finance and not coaching, but we have no real knowledge of what the figures are and it doesn't seem like things will change for the better soon. I'm fed up with them to be honest, I feel like ignoring them for a couple of years and seeing where we are after that. Every year decent players become available from other counties but we just waste our resources on a crock of shite. We are seriously doomed! If it's so difficult to run the club, attract players etc then tell us how bad it is exactly so we don't get our hopes up over the winter.

That's why I can't understand his 2 year deal, 1 might've been ok but I wouldn't have offered him that either. His batting has also gone downhill, from a genuine all rounder he looks like a real tailender. We have enough good spinning talent at the club in Sykes, Sayer, Collins even Redfern, all much better prospects. They're development will just be restricted with Naik staying. The bad thing is he's been very expensive, not even held one end up like you expect of spinner.
-
Because the batsmen under achieve, where we should have a healthy lead going into 2nd innings we end up with a lead of 20-40 runs or even a deficit

Two has beens!

Don't, just don't! 😀
-
Both of them out of contract too...great!
-
218-3 to 280 all out, not good enough that, should've got to 300 at the very least.
-
Agree with all of that.
-
Brilliant fightback from the lads today, really impressed with Sykes, glad he got amongst the wickets. I've been wanting him to play for a while instead of Naik, yet he's signed a 2 year contract, just shows the club is poorly run.
-
That's exactly how it was. Baffled he's signed a new 2 year contract too.
-
I really can't see why Jigar Naik is selected. This season it seems like he's lost all his bowling ability in LVCC. In the next game I'd like to see him out, with either Sheikh or Sykes given a go.

Well...Kent are cruising! To make things worse http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/28238034

Jigar Naik, Rob Taylor, Ben Raine, Tom Wells, James Sykes, Lewis Hill and Rob Sayer have signed new deals. The club have also signed Atif Sheikh (left arm fast medium) on a 2 year contract, he's been playing in the Second team and made a good contribution to their success this season. I might get shot for this but I wouldn't have offered Jigar Naik a new contract, especially not for 2 years, he's been terrible in the LVCC, nothing like last season. Also, the club hope to announce more contract news in the near future, hopefully Ireland isn't one of them and Buck, Cobb, Eckersley, Robson and Thakor sign up. 28 day notices have been received by Leicestershire for some players, and the club have made some of their own approaches.
-
Doubt that very much.

Some contract news coming out tomorrow guys.
-
Would've liked 30/40 more at least, but let's see what we can do. 304 is a tough chase, couple of wickets tonight would be great.
-
We've criticised them so much, and rightfully, so credit where it's due, brilliant batting from Cobb and Taylor, put us in a very good position, job not done yet though. When was the last time Sarwan played a real captains innings and got us out of trouble? I really can't remember.
