I've been very supportive of Ayew, even when others have been highly critical. However, yesterday his attitude and aptitude was absolutely honking, right from the very first whistle. It's obvious Ruud has concerns over Stephy's defensive capabilities especially early in matches, so went with Ayew yesterday, who gave us nothing defensively. Was either jogging or limping around the first 45, and it looked like he couldn't be arsed. I lost count the amount of times Lamptey came in on his left foot even before the goal, and he let the same thing happen time and time again. The introduction of Stephy was vital, as with most modern day full backs and Lamptey is one of those, great going forwards but when it comes to actually do what they are supposed to they go the pieces, very obvious but working on attack being the best form of defensive there was no need for anybody to worry about Stephy's defensive capabilities as he just pinned Lamptey back in his own half. Personally Stephy and DCR have to come into the starting line up on the weekend, I'm just gutted with Abdul's injury, as in this system he would have absolutely flourished.
