Genuine question, I've heard the stories of Paolo Rossi and Brazil and I remember watching the 0-0 in Rome as a 9 year old which was more suspenseful than entertaining. Has there ever been a game of football with the Italian National team that has been entertaining or exciting? That doesn't just apply to games against England. It's always just bitty, scrappy, cheap fouls, dives etc. They are the worst in the world for it imo

I respect your opinion, but he has a better record than all other managers other than Ramsey. I would argue, on paper at least, that the players hes had to work with are not as good as 2 or 3 tournament squads in the last 30 years. We need to get this anti Leicester bias rubbish out of our heads. He's called Justin up, imo, not deserving. Maddison, on merit, deserves a call up but I understand why he hasn't. Why would the manager deliberately make the team weaker over some perceived bias against non top 6 clubs. I believe it was a thing under Eriksson but not these days.
-
Called it a while back. His face doesn't fit, he has been outstanding for city but I dont think he will get in the squad under Southgate and to be fair, Southgate has been by far the most successful England manager in my lifetime so I'm backing the manager's call.

Taking the emotion out of it, am I the only one that is proud that we controlled the game and looked the better team across two legs imo against a massive club. They had the nous, especially tonight, the diving, screaming bitching etc but I genuinely thought we tried and did play better football than Roma over the two legs. Could I ever imagine saying that sentence when I was a kid in the O'Neill days and obviously after that? Let's not forget how far we have come in such a short space of time.

Unbelievable, the linesmen are just as bad.
-
I've heard from somebody that played for the club at the time that O'Neill and Robertson were absolutely vile to Graeme Fenton to the point of bullying. That maybe contributed to him being a flop.

Went back to driving a manual today after 7 years of driving autos, not stalled yet but feels like I'm learning to drive again. Has anyone else made this transition before and how did they find it?

Agreed that he is vital and very good. I just feel that when Maguire isn't there, the defence is so slow to distribute/move up the pitch. First goal last night, Sterling gets the headlines but Maguire created the original space. I've said in this topic and others, this England team is very very good and after living through the 2004-2010 generation when we should have done more, I dont get the hate Southgate gets. He doesn't have an anti Leicester bias, why would he??? He wants the national team to succeed like we all should. If Barnes, Maddison, Justin etc would benefit the team/squad then he would pick them, i genuinely believe that.
-
I'll get slated for this but Maguire is the most important player that England team and system have. The ability to take one or two men out in midfield by a pass or beating them has contributed to so many goals over the last few years. Add in the set piece threat and defensive stability hes provided for England (not concerned about Man Utd), he's more important to this team than anyone bar Kane and I'm not a Kane fan boy but the alternatives are a distinct drop in class.

Predicting the England World Cup 2022 Squad
Lcfcbl replied to oli fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I get the point but Walker is a 50+ cap, Grealish is the public favourite and Foden could be the best we've had since Gazza. Maddison on the other hand was a new boy. The perception was he didn't really care too much and thats never good even though it is the wrong perception. -
Predicting the England World Cup 2022 Squad
Lcfcbl replied to oli fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think Maddison didn't do himself any favours with the casino incident. Southgate has massive belief in the squad dynamic, hence Coady being one of the "key" members of the squad. Personally, I get it after the issues with the golden generation that never delivered despite being massively talented. I dont think we will see Madds in the World Cup barring injury crisis, no matter how well he plays. -
Been England quite a few times over last few years and the goodwill and genuine congratulations you get from others when you tell them you are Leicester is amazing. Yesterday alone, I had Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Millwall all wanting a drink and bigging the kids up about 2016. Unfortunately, mine are too young to remember it but I enjoy the praise. Even an old cockney boy on the tube when he saw our flag was bigging us up, he was off to boxing, couldn't care less about the England game.

It's bit like City tbh. They wanna encourage families and I took my 2 yesterday in the family stand. Reasonable pricing but the screeching middle class mums shouting "Jack will do it" (Grealish) was painful. I must admit I said "f*** off at a decision by the ref (not parent of the year, admittedly buts its football), the looks i got from some was unbelievable. So much potential with England atm and I really wish the atmosphere would reflect that. Molineux in summer will be a lot better.

Whats your alternative Neil? Its easy to abuse people without suggesting a better option.
-
Of course I have pride and self-respect and today was unacceptable. If I made a snap decision though after every shit moment of my life, I wouldn't be in a good place. What's your alternative, let's get rid of Rodgers cos today was awful and we've had a relatively poor season. It wasn't too long ago that people were shitting themselves that he was gonna get poached by Arsenal. Let's please think of the long game, we are in danger of getting a sense of entitlement, it was only a few days ago at work that somebody brought up Richard stearman and how he was a hot prospect. Think where we were and where we are
-
Let's take the emotion out of it. I feel vile now having watched that and we are gonna have to put up with crap for the next week or so from all sides. Its not been a great season but we have a manager that has been pursued by some of the biggest clubs in the world. It wasn't long in the past that we were in League 1. Its been a shit day but we are 10th in the top division and are still in Europe, albeit a minor competition. I've had many more miserable days as a Leicester fan, forest will enjoy their day and fair play to them. I remember 90s when I was a kid and they used to beat us regularly and were better than us. Let's remember where we were and where we are.

Obviously not, I've been a visitor to this forum for years but have never joined, mainly due to the fear it will take up too much of my time. I get the feeling that you are implying I've commented just to cause trouble, I may be wrong. For clarication, I work in an educational setting and have stated my position to many members of staff and have had various responses. Hence, I thought I would get a wider view.

Accepted. It was a question on the general chat section of a football forum just to see what opinions were?

Why would it depend what my job is, out of interest? As I described, I've had Covid twice, very mildly. I'm not denying it doesn't effect everyone as mildly as me. However, why would I put my own health at far greater risk, in my opinion, out of of force/coercion?

I'm quite new to the forum but have been reading back over quite a few pages. With regards to vaccinations, I'm a male in my early 30s. Last summer I contracted Covid and lost my smell and taste, also experienced diarrhoea. I contracted covid again two weeks ago and experienced not a single symptom. 6 years ago I contracted Myopericarditis and was in hospital for 5 days. The pain in my chest, albeit for a short period of time, was unreal like nothing I've ever felt. Before being allowed home, a Cardiologist informed me that I'm of an increased risk of contracting this illness again. I have read about studies showing an increased risk of contracting myocarditis/pericarditis/Myopericarditis due to having the covid vaccine. Thus, I have chosen not to have have the vaccine, not because I'm a mouth-foaming anti-vaxxer but I've just weighed up the pros and cons and made the decision in what could possibly cause more harm to myself, a risk assessment, I suppose. I've already been told by my employers that I cannot be promoted within the company due to me not being vaccinated. I would like to ask the question, regardless of what side of the debate you fall on, if you feel that is a fair and just position?

Try HD flags and banners on Facebook. They did mine a couple of years ago, great quality and not expensive. Local firm too.

Hi, forgive me if this a stupid question. I'm trying to purchase tickets for the Watford FA Cup game for myself, friend and 2 children. I've not been in years since pre Premier League days. It won't allow me to purchase tickets for anyone other than myself due to various error messages. Can anyone give me some advice to navigate the online purchasing, I go to quite a lot of England games and its always a seamless, easy process. Is this an issue with City or am I doing something silly? TIA
