  1. Don't think it is speculation regarding Stirling been told by former board members it was around that figure. very much doubt we will get promoted bowling far too weak and even if we do it's not football from a financial point of view don't really make that much difference if you are Div1 or 2. Lewis Hill has an OK T20 record and decent strike rate and played some good knocks in the one day cup.
  2. They did quite well with the Tom Jones concert. It's a mystery why this year wasn't so successful just wasn't a fantastic day
  3. From my understanding you can attend any championship game that the club are in agreement with unless they are playing the foxes. I attend Trent Bridge a few times a season on my Leicestershire membership
  4. We would still have made a huge loss agree with you on that however regarding Patel he turned down Warwickshire and Essex and signed a new 3 year contract so he will be on way more then the Club normally pay and can afford must be around the £100k kind of range we don't generate anywhere near enough money to justify those kind of figures. Also have to disagree the OS players were not relatively cheap Neesham has a decent market value Stirling earned around £10k for 2 matches we could easily have played Lewis Hill in those games and your not signing Rahane unless you pay very decent money.Agree it's finding the right balance our last CEO Karen Rothley cancelled the old players day when she was in charge to save the club £200 quid
  5. Don't disagree with any of that but you are missing the point we are losing money hand over fist and spending money we haven't got. Of course we didn't want to lose Patel but offering the same amount of money as Warwickshire is just total madness. Have to disagree about the central contract and not sure he can be called a prospect at 26 he's already behind the 2 Warwickshire boys who are way younger and also obvs behind Lawrence and Cox
  6. He does I don't like the guy but I agree with him regarding Jarvis he's a good salesman nothing more
  7. Can anyone tell me what fangofox is saying on twitter please he blocked me a couple of years ago
  8. The blame for the mess we are in lies sorely with Jarvis. Why give Wright a 2 year contract when you knew he would be suspended for half a season why give Patel a 3 year contract on Div 1 wages yes he's a great player and of course we didn't want to lose him but don't go out and pay players money we can't afford why go out and sign 2 OS players for the one day cup again money we could have saved. Also it's just bizarre that nobody told Jarvis that signing Rahane would not attract Indian fans to Grace Road they didn't even turn up when we signed Schwag at the height of his powers.
  9. Agree crowds we're bigger then for T20 but it was a novelty back then . Not sure we used to sell out every game though
  10. How was he crap he didn't get any service we had barely touched the ball until he scored
  11. The Society have a limited budget and only pays the speakers £300 now so sadly won't be able to afford the likes of Bumble Vaughan Tuffers Agnew Gower etc who charge around 2kThey do have Ramprakash in October and Angus Fraser in November who are fairly big names. Fair play to them for coming for that kind of money .Paul Farbrace and Nico both waved there fee to help the society out when they spoke which were great gestures
  12. Seems to me the club are dammed if they do dammed if they don't.We had years of being uncompetitive watching the likes of George Rhodes Gavin Griffiths Alex Wyatt etc nobody enjoyed those times. We now have a decent side they can compete which is great one big problem though to keep the likes of Rishi Patel who I know had offers from Warwickshire and Essex you have to pay them way more then we can afford unless you can find a benefactor with money to burn.We are lucky that Rehan is on a central contract atm he also signed a contact way higher then we can afford. Also been told been problems with Rehan and the club this season the trip to mecca one game into the season and the pressure Rehan put on the club to bat at number 3 in the T20 are 2 of the issues
  13. Don't entirely agree Cakey yes membership numbers are low but they always have been its the same with most Counties Northants have similar numbers yet have posted a profit of over £86k. Seems to me this is a case of Jarvis trying to shift the blame .Great player though he is Rahane will not be worth the money they are paying him same with Neesham and don't get me started on the Stirling 2 game deal. Yes it was nice to have a good run in the one day cup but think how much money we would have saved by coping the policy of most sides and not playing an OS or 1 at most. The pay per view for the Hampshire game got 195 subscriptions hardly a rip roaring success.
  14. Stand corrected Dickson and Davey also over 30
  15. Not sure you can blame the ECB Somerset were missing around 12 players to the Hundred yesterday. Of the 10 matches we played 6 of the sides didn't play an OS player the other 4 played 1 none of them anywhere near the calibre of our 2..we had 6 over 30s in the side yesterday not sure Somerset had any apart from Leech.
  16. It's free on youtube think the excellant Vic Marks will be on comms and best of all no Richard Rae
  17. MON clearly didn't like or rate him remember in an interview last year think with Taggs and Elliott on the Leicester channell he said the Leicester fans thought Corica was a good player for some reason ouch
  18. OK must have misread but they do that anyway at least twice a season
  19. Not sure giving away around 20k free season tickets in a ground that holds only hold around 5k would work besides quite a few of our members are season ticket holders down the city anyway so would just take money out of the club. Also we can't ignore the fact the cricket is a very niche sport that sadly many think is boring Bradley Walsh said recently he would sooner watch paint dry all day then attend a cricket match many share that kind of view
  20. Probably around 50. Sure the somerset fans will enjoy 6 hours of does your carer know your here, Think they went too far yesterday with the chants aimed at Toby Albert aside from that great match and an enjoyable day
  21. What's Richard Rae going on about saying John Turner was born in Leicester
  22. Like I said just about to pat myself on tne back
  23. We sadly know that Indian fans in Leicester have no interest in attending GR Jarvis prediction that Rahane would add 500 Indian fans at the gate only about 495 off the mark. However always noticed that in the comments section on youtube for games most come from Asian fans and also noticed that Rahane has almost 7M followers on twitter or X so it would be interesting to know how many are paying to stream the games maybe a good few
  24. It will be pay to view again all our home games will be until the end of the season
  25. Yep i do remember that still think it's sightly different playing against your parent club that playing for them against the team you are on loan with anyway we will find out one way or another soon enough
