Pissing it down. I'm in Devon not that far away bloody boiling here.
-
Which is ridiculous isn't it? Pointless.

One bit of good business we did that is coming to the forefront is Trevaskis in for Parky, Parky had a few good days but Trevaskis is the far better all round player. An excellent swap in my view. Parky had a woeful one day bowling record average of about 140 as I recall. Nice guy though. Good tryer.

That is a huge issue tbh. If we were now playing the blast in the best if the weather crowds and revenue would be improved hugely. We don't play enough cricket in the summer. Simple

It is difficult I agree and it's certainly a challenge but if you get more commercially aware individuals on.the board increase player sponsorship etc it can be done.. I take my dad who has a season ticket but he and his mates don't spend much in there. Bring their own lunch tea etc they are older I get that. However if I take my sons they probably spend more in 4 T20 games than me and my dad do all season. So it's that target audience we have ro hit. Corporate events, etc. I wouldn't think any CC makes a profit on a 4 day game. Must be impossible. I mean the crowd I sit with are lucky to get through a flask of tea in a day let alone 8 pints and a sit down lunch. But that's where the profits are. Some weekdays I'm there thinking, I must me one of the youngest in here at 55, how much are we losing today! That's not just just Leicestershire either most county crowds are similar. Very little spent in the ground. No incentive to spend when you can bring everything in yourself. Difficult to find solutions I appreciate that.

Yes. I was going. I live about 45 mins away but I have to confess at 58 for 5 I gave up a bit. So I'm to blame as much as anyone. It's not a bad experience and the tickets are cheap really. I think with a bit of investment and some new board members etc we can go forward. I know it sounds ridiculous but 500k in the modern world is not a huge amount of money. It's just about about attracting the right investors We are so much better than we were 10 years ago. Total laughing stock that also lost money. So we have to be positive.

Tbh not sure I'd pay 50 p at this rate. Due a random performance and here we have it.
-
Ahh that's why we have no stream. Might go down later. So is 3.99 even for members. How do you get on it?
-
I get it I really do, i mean he dwarfs me and I'm 6ft 4 and he has wheels I really do get it. However your almost saying CC doesn't matter its not important what you do its individuals we want and we are recruiting them regardless of form or statistics. Bashir is playing Tests 2s and Club cricket at the moment. Which is is bonkers really. Plus doing well! I'm not knocking him. You just wonder about the entire set up. Shame he can't play the one day as 100 is teaching him nothing.

I was pretty certain Ian Holland was on loan but people keep telling me I'm wrong? So anyone know for sure? I still say loan.
-
Probably not. When teams know the forecast and you have a decent crowd at an out ground what about reducing it to a T20? That may be far to sensible I guess.
-
I mean I didn't see all of that innings but that looks below par. Pitch seems very good and the latter batsmen had no issues. Not sure what the plan was for Yorkshire in the first 20?
-
Yep looks good. Strong action. Tidy. Resonable pace for his age also.
-
I'd say he probably has gone backwards to an extent, leg spin is obviously really difficult, even at club level if you miss a few weeks you lose your rhythm. I can't understand why he missed some CC matches early on, he can't need a rest can he? Ludicrous. I would make an alteration to the 100 if we have to suffer it, if your not playing return to your county. You can go and play in the 100 again next day if needs be. Alot of younger players just sitting in a dug out every evening. I'd say Hull and Ahmeds biggest problem is a lack of rhythm due to not playing.
-
Yeah not out of it. I enjoyed my day. That was with three exceptions a second team we played against. It was a good chance Mckerr looked rapid. Never plays
-
Nice day out but a poor display. Chris Wright looks like he'd rather be anywhere else. Bowling about 70mph and fielding like a blind man in a sack. Not just the drop either. Been a great servant so let's get him fit and firing before we push him.out on the field. Clearly not fit in any way shape or form.
-
The southern group is really stiff also. Look at Kents side and they finished bottom. Billings, Bell Drummond, Muyeye, Denly, Leaning even Crawley sometimes. Rock bottom. I am not sure any sides in our group would get out of thst group. May be Birmingham. So I think you will see alot of the Southern sides taking this seriously

I think it's good to have a go. We've only got three comps to have a go at and realistically this is the only one we currently have much chance in. We've a decent shout at doing well I think.even with five missing. I'd like to see us rotate a few fringe players though. Some of these guys don't do a massive amount wrong but they don't get a go. Sam Evans record isn't bad really, no worse than others. Walker now fit is a good alternative to Salibury in white ball games. From what I've seen (not thst much) Trevaskis looks a really good bat.
-
Yeah. I'd forgotten about Wyatt. Looked the part didn't he. That was all...... They were really bad days. Far from perfect now but we were terrible at that point.
-
I was going down for the last few hours but off for rain. I only live 40 mins away and fine here? Anyone there give me an update
-
I think even the big counties are struggling though, (except Surrey) they seem to have lost focus with what they are trying to achieve and probably haven't come to terms with the new world. Even if your Notts or Warks your best players will still snub you for any competition going from the PPL to the 100 they are still going. Frankly even though they have money and a fantastic ground etc they are just not a big hitting county now. Not fashionable and don't draw players as they once did. Great at hosting tests or the 100 but they ate probably not even in the top 6 now regarding county success. Surrey Hampshire Somerset Warwickshire Essex Lancashire All have better squad's miles better

Financial issues a few kent members said. So just shows Leicestershire are doing OK. Couple of good seasons. Let's get behind them.
-
Don't think Mike is in the 100. Time yet. Still got a chance. Patel will be a huge miss obviously. Some teams like Kent who are struggling anyway lose almost their entire batting line up. They may not win a game. They just fell off a Cliffe this year. Saw them on sky Tuesday looked woeful
-
Well he is out of contract and they have 3 other left arm spinners so I don't think they will offer him anything. However other counties may well come in if we don't.
-
I think they are both decent tbh. Trevaskis is good enough as a batsmen. Goldsworthy obviously surplus to requirements anyway at his county
