  1. It's always been in as slave, not changed that. Think I've cracked it though. I'd been running it off a legacy power adapter, plugged it in with a sata one, and no problems since. Dodgy adapter maybe?
  2. Tried all that, swapped cables, ports etc. Got my primary HDD and my dvd drive plugged in through SATA and I've had no problem with them...
  3. It's all enabled, because it worked before. It just randomly decides to stop working
  4. Ok, so I added a second harddrive to my pc, via SATA. Plugged it in, formatted it etc., installed programs on it, worked fine Then, one day it packed up, couldn't see it at all. So I gave it back to the mate that sold it to me, he put it in his pc, works fine. Bring it home, plug it in, works fine. Turn my computer off, turn it back on and poof it's gone. Taken it out and back in again, still nothing. Help?

  6. I'd checked temperatures and everything, and I clean my computer out regularly, it was spotless inside. Ran SpyBot and cleaned some stuff off, then it had some automatic updates for me (Vista Ultimate x64) Anyway, since these have installed it seems to be running fine, so I don't know what was wrong, but it's fine now Edit: Forgot to mention, this wasn't a gradual thing either, it just suddenly went from being lightening fast to taking quarter of an hour to boot.
  7. Ok, I've found out that when I try to boot my computer, after the loading screen it hangs for about 10 mins then gives me the logon screen. However, it's now running ridiculously slow, and takes forever to do anything. I've removed AVG and It's no better, any suggestions?
  8. Ok, so eventually this started randomly on last known good config, and I just deleted the driver, no problems. Now, I'm having the same problem again from another AVG driver from the System32 folder. Any way I can get in and delete the file without starting windows? I think it needs AVG wiping and re-installing. Thanks
  9. Can't get my pc to start (Vista Ultimate 64-Bit) Starting normally, it goes past the windows loading screen, then blank If I try to start in safe mode it freezes at: Loaded: \Windows\SysWOW64\Drivers\AVGIDSErHr.sys
  10. Couple more:
  11. Sorry this is so long, but it's brilliant!
  12. Re-installing the sound driver worked I should have tried that before really... but never though to do it because it was playing sound fine, just not picking it up. Thanks
  13. Ok, Microphone/Sound problem I'd been using my Audio Input to record some sound from my pc, changed it to Stereo Mix in the sound panel etc. However, now I can't seem to record anything Mp Laptop doesn't seem to pick up and sound from either a microphone or the stereo mix, but I don't think I changed any settings, but is there a way to reset it all? I changed the sound scheme back to windows default, but I don't think that's it. Much Thanks
