The last 3.5 years have been a big scandal Stan
-
I’m assuming they’ve been in mutiny from Day 1, before Ruuds tactical ineptitude at LCFC had been brought to light
-
Conversely I think it works the other way You get the players to trust you as a person and vice versa and then you get them to trust you in the tactical/managerial side of things.
-
Like I said Perspective
-
Different managers make different rules? Do you think Gerrard refused to pay a £100 fine for being late to training under Benitez because it used to be a £50 fine under Houllier? Likewise, terms for uniform service can change under a new government. The servicemen/women don’t get a say in that.
-
So are service men and women who have to drop everything to go on a 6 month tour of duty for crap pay not knowing whether they’ll ever see their newborn again Perspective,

I know. Pearson got players in who’d fight for the shirt, commanded respect and would fight for him too. He shipped out the opposites of them- Beckford, Danns. Then he started the team building/ethos Winks falls into the category of Danns and Beckford. Clearly
-
Ruuds trying to create part of that structure by stopping the commute once a week What chance has the bloke got?
-
They also had a problem with Cooper too Player power is not a good thing. Can’t start a culture if the players refuse to listen to the manager before the manager is even announced
-
Not really no. Amazes me he can’t find a dog sitter in London though. Do you not think the overall lax attitude around the club and the training ground is having an effect on the pitch? Train hard fight easy.
-
What have they done to deserve this?
-
Laughing at your first two sentences, not the last
-
And at FT Monday night we’ll have forum members complaining about how soft and overindulged our players are.
-
👏🏼

It sounds to me like he’s trying to lead, but the senior players are undermining him over very reasonable requests.
-
RVN is trying to stamp his authority on the players. Clearly they f***ing well need it too. Ruud would’ve learnt from the best in Fergie. Repeating myself here I know, but if Fergie thought it was a bad idea with Beckham 20 years ago, then why should it now not matter, despite sports science having a bigger part to play in football than it did 20 years ago? End of the day, it’s not just about being less tired for training, (which driving or any other form of travelling makes you) but it’s also about discipline, setting an example to others, sacrifices, a senior (ish player) backing the gaffer and getting all the other lads on board with it. Show some commitment to the cause. These players are paid astronomical sums of money and lead a life we all dream of. Asking a player to stay at Spagrave once a week, for any reason whatsoever, is a perfectly acceptable request, 3 week old son or not.
-
I don’t have a problem with him doing it but I’m not the manager making rules the players are clearly flouncing
-
Really staggered how many people are backing Winks up on this subject, with their main defence being ‘It was OK under Enzo, Rodgers, Puel’ Yet still complain about our players attitudes

Under a different manager though. Different manager, different rules. Who knows how long RVN has been trying to implement it but it’s bang on
-
Why are you baffled? It wasn’t OK with SAF for Beckham to commute twice a week 20 years ago If it wasn’t good enough for Ferguson and one of the best players in the world at the time, why is it ok for Winks? A mediocre player with a club that’s up shit creek without a paddle?

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

He never had them. -
Wasn’t acceptable to Fergie with Beckham was it, and Beckham wasn’t even commuting daily.
-
Had a kid 3 weeks ago? Assuming no complications, you can stay 1 night in Leicester per week, and use your many thousands to get help for your missus if needed. Or, here’s an idea, move up here!

Got to have the players pulling in the same direction as the manager no? Ruud talks a good game, but maybe/clearly he’s pissing in the wind here if he can’t get the players to even listen
