  1. Spent a couple weeks hiking around Theth and the Valbona Valley area last year. I'm not sure what the different options look like for transport, but travelling the main road from Tirana to Shkoder by coach wasn't too much hassle. Just wandered down to the local coach park and asked around for one going in the direction I needed. The coach was in decent condition. If you're looking to head out into the country or mountains, it might take a little bit more planning. To get into the mountains, I pre-booked passage on a ferry / mini-bus with some people that are contactable online. Where are you thinking of heading?
  2. I'm not down on every detail, although as I understand it, Grusch is genuinely not permitted to discuss a lot of what he's been privy to due to an ongoing complaint lodged with the Office of the Intelligence Community Inspector General. This relates to alleged retaliation against his investigative work whilst he was a part of a UAP Task Force. The IG found these complaints "credible and urgent" apparently. As such, Grusch has already spent at least 11 hours passing evidence to investigating parties with the relevant clearance. Plenty of what he's discussing is also classified, and so is unable to be disclosed during a hearing such as that he took part in yesterday. Whether there's any truth to his claims or not, over the past year or so, he seems to have been playing a bit of chess in order to be able to even get to this point. In this respect, yesterday's hearings seem to be more about creating an environment in which Congress is able to follow-up and investigate as much as it was disseminating information to the public. I've had a passing interest in the subject for 15 or so years, given the genuine sketchiness that exists amongst the overwhelming mountain of rubbish thats collected alongside it. The current discussion is the latest point in a coordinated effort that's been ongoing for at least 6-7 years. Some characters involved could be seen as questionable, but plenty are so reputable that the whole situation is genuinely quite interesting. Given the current media spotlight on what has historically been a somewhat fringe topic, I'd encourage caution around listening to everything that comes from the media atm. Not in a conspiratorial way, but because it's an extremely complicated subject which a lot of these journalists have barely dipped their toes in. I've seen a fair bit of misinformation knocking about since the hearing, which is likely just genuine mistakes given the turnaround time these professionals have been given for the story.
  3. I don't think its typical for someones personality to change seemingly overnight. As you're probably aware, mental health disorders can lead to changes in behaviour and fluctuation in personality, but I don't think it's usual that there would be no semblance of this pre-exisiting beforehand. Obviously you know the person and the context of the situation better, but could there be a chance that there was physical injury to the head? I'm not an expert, but understand as layman that this can cause quite rapid changes? There's also the chance that something in their lives has gone very badly and none of you are aware.
  4. Had the feeling we were on the way down around March. Probably the Villa match that really did it. I lost all hope in the capacity of the team to stay up after the Fulham game.
  5. See how we're feeling when the bills have gone up to pay for it, and the results end up being underwhelming to non-existant. People can be pretty brilliant, but when they pull together under the generally accepted organisational structure, they all too often seem to form an entirely cuntish entity.
  6. You'd think it'll be absolutely necessary for the government to get involved to some degree. I can imagine a world a few years down the line where, bills have gone up, current chief execs have sailed into the sunset and those that replaced them are giving the same nonsense apologies we've heard before.
  7. Went through all of Always Sunny the last few months, having never watched it previously. Once it got it's hooks in, I found it to be genuinely one of the funniest series I've watched. Been watching 'Catastrophe' on Netflix the past couple of weeks. Really enjoying it and would definitely recommend if anyones looking for a comedy.
  8. Had a quick google and it seems like it has the capacity to be a pretty original, fun story. Hopefully they pull it off! I try not to watch the long trailers for fims anymore, as I alwasy feel like they put too much content in them. Will be interesting to see if we start getting more films regarding Artifical Intelligence, considering the recent hype around the subject.
  9. I've not got as far as vomiting, but have felt queasy to the point of it being painful on occasion recently. Got a lot on at the moment and this feeling similarly occurs when I wake up during the night mostly. Also been waking up with a painful jaw from it being clamped shut, so I'm also fairly certain it's down to increased anxiety.
  10. Then plenty of companies take the piss by having a spokespersons identify the shoddy work as some sort of unavoidable mistake that they'll review moving forwards. Pretty sure Microsoft did that recently following the release of Redfall. Couldn't possibly delay a broken game that they'll sell to people, but they're fighting to complete the takeover of Activision for about $70b. Considering recent stories around the industry, I wouldn't be surprised to find the employees overworked and underpaid. The game is really quite poor. Thought I'd jump on with some friends as it was on gamepass and expected just bit of a light-hearted mess-around. It just about met my low expectations, but there's a fair few bugs that make playing it annoying. Picking up a sniper-rife would either see all the guns in my inventory having a huge scope functionality, or no scope functionality including the rifle. Even just picking stuff up from the environment requires you to duck and weave to get the selection prompt to appear. Like you say, they'll continue to get away with it mostly. The demand for games from big studios is just so high. Starfield will no doubt release an absolute mess in due course.
  11. tbf, it makes about as much sense as a highly rated player doing 1,000 stepovers in the box before setting himself up to lob your keeper with a scorpion kick. In my mind, fifa has always been almost entirely an arcade type game rather than a simulator and FUT just leans further into that.
  12. Thanks for the response. Should've mentioned, that was my first and only idea and unfortunately it hadn't worked. It did remove other bits of formatting and so I guess the issue I'm looking at just isn't considered in the process. To give a better picture in case you have any further ideas, the below is an example. The text in the pdf is as below, with the bold being what I'd look to copy. When pasting to word, it would appears as below inline with how it appeared in the PDF. My aim is to have it paste as below: Like I said, not a massive issue, but it irritates me if I don't correct it and over time those seconds add up and break up the flow of reading. Thought for sure they'd be an option to achieve what I want, but I can't find anything searching on the internet. Thanks!
  13. I'm currently copy pasting notes from a textbook in PDF format. The formatting remains upon pasting to word, so that where a sentence continues onto the line below in the pdf, this also happens in word despite there being space on the same line. Not a massive issue, but fairly annoying when correcting consitently for hours on end. Can anybody recommend a workaround, either where I paste with the formatting removed, or edit the word document entirely when I'm done?
  14. I'd heard good things. I'll get stuck into them after.
  15. Watching some of the Star Wars TV series recently and considering the scope the world has for interesting stories, I was wondering if anyone here has read any Star Wars books and has recommendations? Having a quick look, it seems the universe has inspired a good few books. 😅
  16. Been watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi series this past week and had a pretty good time with it. Looking forward to picking up some of the other Star Wars series if this remains rewarding.
  17. Considering I posted the above and there was some interest when this was in the news, I thought I might as well note that the hearings in congress have been scheduled for 19th April. Closed hearings to examine the mission, activities, oversight, and budget of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office; to be immediately followed by open session in SR-232A. Wouldn't expect to hear a whole lot in the open hearing, although Senator Gillibrand will be asking the questions and she's been pretty fired up about this whole subject the last couple years. Could be interesting.
  18. Been playing Valheim with a friend recently, further to it being added to gamepass. Crafting/Survival game, set on a procedurally generated map. It's early access, but has a decent amount to it. You play a Viking, starting at the centre of a large circular map. It seems the further out you go, the environments become more harmful and the enemies more difficult. Therefore, you have to level up and build the appropriate equipment to survive. There are 5 'biomes' currently, each of which has a boss you have to locate and defeat, in addition to the general enemies which keep you busy. It's been a decent laugh, although can be absolutely brutal at times. The health and stamina mechanics are not entirely easy on you and there isn't much hand holding. Not sure I'll keep at it until the end. In this genre of games, I had a better time recently with Grounded which I'd absolutely recommend.
  19. Thought I'd revive this topic following a trip to Gran Canaria last week, where my wife and I section hiked its portion of the GR131. Hadn't been over that way since I was a kid and going by memory, I was pretty much just expecting a whole lot of desert. Although we walked some desert on the first day which provided some interesting sights with the associated landscape and flora, the island was also largely green and lush with all sorts of wildflowers etc. Some good birdlife to spot along the way too. We had a couple of woodpeckers fly right down next to us one morning. A decent number of towns/villages for a good meal every day and some beautiful wild camping options with clear dark skies. Would definitely reccomend. Pretty hot in March though! Maybe one for the winter.
  20. For anyone who thought this was an interesting topic, Congress are looking at having more hearings in April. Source
  21. Sea of Thieves has the capacity to be a great experience if you can get a few friends together regularly. Been out for a while as well, so the amount of content is sizeable. I enjoyed playing Grounded for quite a while. Didn't finish it though. Each significant stage of the story felt a little grindy to complete and it did eventually get a little bit stale. If you're into survival games with some form of overarching story, it's pretty well put together. Looking forward to trying Valheim when it drops on Xbox in a week or so.
  22. At the moment, I feel like I'd like to learn something academic to a decent level. In order that I can both know something about the world in which we live, and to hopefully do something fulfilling within society if possible. During my life, I'd also like to have spent plenty of time seeing natural wonders. Get some good time in the mountains under my belt.
