I watched all seven episodes of Disclaimer on Apple TV. It was good, although the plot twist was quite obvious by the end of Episode 5. Worth a watch though.

It will be interesting, over the next couple of years, to see if there’s any truth to the claim that Trump has dementia. A lot of academics have said there is evidence in his speech and behaviour, particularly when compared with, say, ten years ago. My (limited) understanding of dementia is that it accelerates over time, so by 2026 he could clearly be incapacitated. Who will tell him?

Three years ago - in the months after 6 January 2021 - most people would not have given Trump a chance of running for President again. And yet, here we are.

It it would need a constitutional amendment to change it, but with Trump in charge I’m not sure the constitution will matter too much. And I’m not sure that the word ‘ability’ applies where Trump is concerned.

I finished watching Series two last night, and they’re clearly planning a third series. If they do, I’ll have to rewatch the first two series, because the plot and interactions are so complex. One of those strange dramas where I think it was good, but at times I found it simply baffling.

He was also born outside the USA so is constitutionally barred from the presidency.

I feel physically sick at this news. I’m 79, so I’ve had my (fairly decent) life, but I’ve got children and grandchildren. I hate the thought of them trying to live in a world dominated by authoritarian dictatorships, but that’s what we’re looking at now.
