M.I.A.'s sound isn't exactly my cup of tea but when I first heard "Galang," I must admit that I found the song to be quite catchy. Ay-yay-yaaaaahhhh! However, I listened to her album and was a little bit disappointed that most of the tracks sound the same to me (or maybe I've got an untrained ear for Sri Lankan house music). But if I've got to dance to wild, syncopated music from another country, I'd much, much rather dance to M.I.A. instead of the reggaeton crap that's being spewed all over the place in New York.
