dog_4 Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 why do people like him, he is slow and makes too many mistakes
Nationwider Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 why do people like him, he is slow and makes too many mistakes Most defenders in the CCC are slow and make mistakes. I like him because he is committed, shows professionalism and plays for us.
gurkbasurken Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 Can I ask you guys a question: How do you put Nisse Johansson (and Gerrbrand for that sake) compared to swedish national MB and Aston Villa player Olof Mellberg? Sweden has a huge lack of good defenders now. We need at least one more MB and one RB to make the squad ready for Germany next summer...
King Kyle lcfc Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 Neither are as good as Mellberg infact there no were near
Scow Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 Judgement on Gerrbrand is reserved until he has a run of games. As for Johansson, he's not totally convinced me as of yet, so it's not encouraging for Sweden that he's looking iffy in the Championship at times.
gurkbasurken Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 Neither are as good as Mellberg infact there no were near Ok, I thougt so of course, but Mellberg is the swedish captain and one of the key players. A comparision to Michael Svensson of Southampton (been injured for quite a while but is back now they say) or Andreas Jakobsson (also Southampton, last season) is probably more interesting... /g
King Kyle lcfc Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 well if sweden have to rely on any body who is pulling on a city shirt at the moment you might aswell not bother turning up in Germany mate
gurkbasurken Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 well if sweden have to rely on any body who is pulling on a city shirt at the moment you might aswell not bother turning up in Germany mate Haha, yeah but fortunately we're not. We rely on guys that plays for shitty swedish teams instead. Like Teddy Lucic who plays for a Gothenburg team called BK Häcken (literally translated that is "FC Arsehole"). And Nisse has in fact played a couple of nationals a while ago, and sometimes his name comes up when discussions are going about new defenders... Anyway... I just wondered, you know, I can't see the Leicester games here. Why can't at least Sky show one soon?! /g

Gené and Tonic Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 Gerrbrand has looked good in the short time we saw him at right back. I think he will become a great centre back for this club should he be given the chance.
Guest Gist Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 I think that johanson has played well for us so far this season and what ive seen of him when he has made a mistake he recovers from them
PontusK Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 gurkbasurken, was Gerrbrand knocking on the door at all when at Hammarby? If players like Lucic at shitty Swedish teams can get a look in, surely players at bigger clubs like Hammarby must get a look in, especially when Gerrbrand got so many rave reviews.

Pontus K - Great name! Yes, Gerrbrand was knocking on the door. He did well in the U21 games he played and some people thought he would get a chance in the senior team as well. /g
PontusK Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 Cheers! I'm always interested in Sweden and like to see them doing well. Are the press, fans etc following his progress over here particularly? Can't imagine injury helped very much though. It seems like these days all the best names in Swedish football are quickly snapped up by French, English, Italian, German clubs, whereas I can remember when IFK were a European force in the mid 90s and Sweden came 3rd in USA '94, a lot of their best players were in Sweden. sorry, this has gone slightly off topic!

Yes, you're quite right that all the best swedish players seem to leave for the big clubs, but this year has been kind of an exception though, when a lot of players has returned to swedish league Allsvenskan, such as Anders Svensson (Southampton-Elfsborg), Mattias Jonsson (Norwich-Djurgården) and Daniel Andersson, Anders Andersson etc from portugal and Italy to Malmö FF. Can't say (or believe) that swedish fans/press/managers are following Gerrbrand or Nisse Johansson very much. It's probably some hundreds of hardcore Hammarby fans, and a couple of LCFC fans maybe. And I'm part of both those groups... /g
