LCFC 2017/18 Season player ratings

Feel free to add if I’ve missed any out as I’m sure there may be 1 or 2 and these are just my opinions so agree/disagree all you like.

 

Goalkeepers

 

Smeichel 6: more mistakes than recent seasons but still pretty solid

 

Hamer: rarely used, played ok when seen.

 

Jakupovic: Vastly underused should be number 2 and challenging Kasper.

 

Defenders

 

simpson 6: defended ok in the main, poor going forward.

 

maguire 6.5: nice to see a ball playing CB, will be better seen with a new defensive partner or dragovic more often.

 

morgan 5.5: Unfortunately appears to be over the hill now. Been a superb player for us but time to get rid.

 

Chilwell 6: Improved as the season went on. Still don’t know his best position as ok going forward but questionable defensively.

 

Others:

 

Dragovic 7: Underused, Solid when he’s played.

 

Fuchs 6: Steady, been found out a bit more defensively this season.

 

Benalouane 6: Did ok in the few games he played.

 

Amartey 6.5: Did well at RB when Simpson was injured.

 

Midfield

 

Mahrez 7: Still our most creative player. Had an in and out season again but still some top class performances which have won us points.

 

Ndidi 7: Good season, played well breaking up play regularly sitting in front of the defence. Just needs to find a regular partner which hopefully Silva will be after a full pre season.

 

Silva 6: Think he’s improving. Still getting used to the intensity of the Prem and will improve for a full pre season training.

 

Albrighton 6: Steady, still puts a good cross in but that doesn’t really suit our style.

 

Others:

 

Iborra 6.5: Solid and reliable performer who is one of few players who can actually score from a set piece.

 

King: Steady when he was here.

 

James: Unfortunately injured regularly again, great performance away at Chelsea.

 

Choudhry: looked a decent young player in the run in.

 

Diabate 6.5: lots of potential

 

Gray 6: Very inconsistent

 

Forwards

 

Vardy 8: Scored regularly and scored some cracking goals. Works hard even when isolated up front.

 

Okazaki 6.5: Scored quite a lot 1st half of the season, not looked right/fit since the new year.

 

Iheanacho 6: Quite a conundrum. Knows where the net is but often looked uninterested. Still think he could be a great player for us.

 

Slimani: Rarely played.

Yes. Thought I’d go a game early as don’t really think it will make a huge amount of difference but you never know someone could have a 10/10 or someone could have a stinker that may change opinions
