As an ex-resident of South Manchester (and fairly frequent visitor to Maine Rd) I quite like Man City, but it's difficult to stomach their present setup.

Being bankrolled by a state (Abu Dhabi) infamous for its despotism, cruelty and greed and owners who are equally unpleasant and with zero interest in football does not sit well.

And I thought Peter Swales was dodgy...

At our recent game at The Ethihad I was speaking with a couple of coppers before the game. General chat about Vichai, helicopter accident, the club etc etc. They had heard on news about the charity donations Vichai has made locally in Leicestershire and about cakes, beer on his birthday etc and said we were lucky to have had him and now Top.

Mentioning the tshirts we were getting on the night they said "What a great gesture, this lot wouldn't do anything like that. They would probably make mancity fans pay a fiver if they did it" said one. Other said "they are all take and fleecing city fans when they can and not actually that interested in the football. And that lot at Utd ain't any better. Most the Players are ok but the senior management and owners don't care a hoot about people of Manchester, just the share price but your guy seems to have and connected with your fans and community ".

Guess those comments  echos your post.

Absolutely - and the more you find out about the Al-Nahyan brothers and Khaldoon Al-Mubarak (Chairman of Man City) the murkier and frankly more horrific it gets. Corruption, exploitation and human rights abuses are rife in their story as well as financial doping, bribery and even war crimes (Yemen).

One of the many ironies involved in this whole sorry story has Manchester City, traditionally the club supported by Manchester's large Jewish community, now run by people who do not recognise the existence of the state of Israel.

As you point out, symptomatic of the owners' complete contempt of their fan base.

We now have a situation where many of Europe's biggest clubs (Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and Bayern Munich) are owned - or heavily funded by - either Abu Dhabi or Qatar.

Not pleasant.

Man City fan in peace ?. I’ve read a few of your comments above and can see where your coming from. We know how lucky we are to have the money that’s been invested in the club but we are enjoying the ride because who knows how long it will last. I have seen us play some of the best football the premiership has ever seen and know what a blessing that is.

Winning the league has always been the one I wanted. People go on about the champions league but it seems to corrupt for my liking. You guys must know that as your league win was incredible. When Leicester came to the Etihad that season they played Man City off the park.

To be honest when we played you this year Rodgers had you set up really well and I liked your style of play. I think you will be a force next season.

Finally don’t know if anybody can help however I’m after a copy of the Leicester vs Man City programmes from last season both the league and league cup. If anybody can point me in the right direction of where I can get them feom

id appreciate it.

Cheers and good luck next season

Couple of points:

I know we're all football fans & basically just want to see our teams do well, but the source of your side's wealth and present dominance must sit a little uneasily with some of your fans. And, as I say above, I quite like Man City (used to live in Withington and had good mates who supported them).

So I guess what I'm saying is, the Premier League's pretty corrupt too, if you look below the surface,

Don't blame you for enjoying the ride though,

As for the programmes, I can't help you, but if you promise to leave our centre-half and left-back alone this summer, I'm sure somebody can...
