1988ib Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 Well played Leicester. You just about deserved the 3 points today, but before the 1st goal it was fairly even, in fact we were shading it. Top strike by Dublin, most Millers fans applauded it. Id just like to say (without crawling) that your support for your lads was superb, & also your support for "under fire" manager Micky Adams. Its good to see he has the fans backing. I hope your visit to our shed wasnt too much of a culture shock & see you for the return game. ATB Ian
Scow Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 Rotherham did shade the first half, and our first goal came against the run of play. Second half we were pretty much in control, and the Dublin strike put the result beyond doubt. I fear for Rotherham, they looked poor in the last third. Build up play is fine, but the final ball or shot is always lacking, and apparently that's been the case for you since the start of the season. Chris Sedgewick is a quality player though.
Guest Daniel Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 Thanks for the message mate, im glad our support impressed you, i agree the backing for adams was great although i dont want him as manager. The shed was awful and it about matched your second half performance. Who would you say was our star player?
Guest freund Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 hope rotherham stay up not looking too good though
1988ib Posted 12 September 2004 Author Posted 12 September 2004 hope rotherham stay up not looking too good though 18407 We have more or less given up on this season. We have performed miracles keeping in this division for 4 seasons but money talks, weve got none, no-one will come to us even on loan, so weve got to go with what weve got.So we know well go down, I just hope it wont be too embarrassing, but as a loyal fan, Ill be going down with the sinking ship. In answer to your question BlueMistress, I thought Nilis was your best player. ATB Ian
Guest Daniel Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 I thought Nilis retired ages ago with a broken leg when playing for Villa? Nalis.
Guest freund Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 it was nice to see the rotherham fans applauding dublins goal, i don't think many other teams would do that

My fingers are crossed for you.
Ash Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 Can i ask Ian why dont your fans ever sing ?Maybe if you got behind your more Rotherham could do alot more in this divison
davieG Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 Can i ask Ian why dont your fans ever sing ?Maybe if you got behind your more Rotherham could do alot more in this divison 18495 Funny that Because the Oppo fans are always say how quiet Filbert Way is and that we don't get behind our team.
Hullfox Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 Truth is we don't get behind the team at home. The singing is sporadic and from different sections.

At least we actually sing some songs.

Cat Burger Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 Sections of fans at Filbert Way make me a bit mad, they don't realise that singing actually helps the team. Silence or plain clapping makes the fans sound impatient IMO. I don't feel like I've done my duty as a fan unless I go home hoarse.

Macca4lcfc Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 our home support is crap! still aint seen the dublin goal, sounds good though! and if rotherham are struggling in the final third, they should get tommy wright on lonan. that way tommy would get first team experience, rotherham would have a good striker and most importantly micky would see whether or not tommy can cut it in this division!

Whether its the surroundings, the wages or Ronnie, I just dont know, but players would rather toss it off in the Pontins league. As for us not singing, what have we had to sing about lately? A proposed take over bid that went tits up, cos young Mr Grace (Ken Booth, our esteemed chairman who is 84 yrs old) has no intention of losing control of the club. If the takeover had gone ahead we were promised a new 7000 seat stand, funds available for players etc etc...... Instead were skint, cant pay the wages of decent players, our grounds a shed, & we are expected to survive on gates of 5500. No wonder were not singing. I hope that answers your question. ATB Ian
Guest freund Posted 12 September 2004 Posted 12 September 2004 Do the Chuckle Brothers still go to the games?
1988ib Posted 12 September 2004 Author Posted 12 September 2004 Do the Chuckle Brothers still go to the games? 18562 Occasionally, but if they turned up at the next game, theyed probably be in the forward line........... Incidentally, you can see me in the post Rotherham pictures 2. In the photo of your guy in the press box, look underneath at the millers fans, look for the bloke stood up in the black millers away shirt, & Im the one immediately to his left, receding hair, with a tache, looking bewildered, as I have all season.
