dhermon Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 im sorry but stop brining up the past look foward not back MA has plans for the future he is just shit at getting that across to us. as for last season the players were on the pitch how is it not their fault to u cannot blame one man no matter how good it makes U feel their was more wrong at the club last season than just the manager.
Stuliasz Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 I agree to blame Micky Adams for the players losing concentration in the last five minutes is just nigh on ridiculous. How can the man legislate for John Curtis coming back and sliding the ball into his own net against Boro? How can he legislate for Walker parrying the ball into Kanoute's path against Spurs? He can not legislate for individual mistakes in the last five minutes. No amount of coaching, team talks or whatever from the manager can fully prevent this happening. Its down to the players on the pitch on that one.
Guest Daniel Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 What was the ball doing in that place though? If the ball wernt with Walker he couldnt of done it, shouldnt be sitting back.

We seemed to be a shambles defending a lead, and yes, part of that is down to the players, but some of the blame is down to the manager. The team sitting too seep, giving the ball away cheaply because we had no outlet, not surprising when you bring on the likes of Craig Hignett to hold up the ball who is now plying his trade in League 2 with Darlington. It's just decisions like that change the face of a game. You could argue we overachieved by getting in to those winning positions in the first place, but once you're there, you need to everything you can to protect it. I don't think Adams was tactically aware to achieve this, although it was his first season managing at the top level.
