nikko Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 I watched Middlesborough in Europe last night and thought why are they in europe with players like Viduka, hasselbank etc and I am watching City play like donkeys in the first division (sorry championship!) It wasn't that long ago we stuffed them in the cup - where and why has it all gone wrong? I can't stand much more crap from the team or Adams! :?:

I think that you'll find that gets you there. Meanwhile, leave the true supporters down at the Walkers, we'll be fine.
Ric Flair Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 It pains me to think about what could of been, but then it brings a tear to my eye when I think about how bloody lucky we have been to achieve what we did under O'Neill. The way things have panned out has left a bitter taste in alot of City fans mouths, but I think we have been spoilt with the success and that has left us expecting too much from a club like Leicester. Now that doesn't mean it excuses the way Peter Taylor and John Elsom destroyed this club, but often it's inevitable things like this happens to a club that has unheard of success. Look what's happened to 'the mighty Leeds' i'd be suicidal if I was a Leeds fan, they are in real trouble. I am thankful for the memories of O'Neill and I hope one day we'll reach those dizzy heights again, but I think alot of City fans along with alot of people involved with the club need to move on and accept we aren't the force we once were. The club needs a massive re-building job, forget the short term fixes. We won't succeed like that and we won't succeed with Micky Adams, it might take 4 or 5 years of re-building to form a foundation capable of moving back in to the big time but I would rather see that happen than the shambles we've seen here over the past few years.

Craig Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 And It's all Micky Adams' fault that we were knocked out of europe, didn't buy star players, appointed PT, got relegated....

Guest Daniel Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 I couldnt agree more mate, Adams has gave us no hope for the future at all, what if he does get us up? Sign more old shit to try and keep us up, and the season after the same again? Should be planning for the future, Adams couldnt plan furthur than his nose.

Ash Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 I think the reason Middlesbrough are in Europe and we aint , is because Boros Board have alot of money and are willing to give the manager some, Unlike are board who aernt willing to share there cash !

ADAMS OUT! :w00t: ::
nikko Posted 17 September 2004 Author Posted 17 September 2004 Didn't we splash the cash with PT? Last year was a chance missed, could/should have stayed up. No one else to blame but MA. Overall my point is we picked the wrong men to follow MoN. Taylor Bassett Adams None of em up to the job!

No way can Adams be blamed for us being relegated.
Oli Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 He can last season. Many of times i saw the team werent motivated, thats because he signed old shit that didnt care about the club or that he couldnt motivate them before games. Both would be his fault.

Thats down to adams, if his men are conceeding last minute goals every other week its his fault. End of story.

Guest Daniel Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 I know that, im giving him a fresh chance from now. Last match he almost cocked up because of bad managment and no substitutions. So a good start on his fresh slate with me.
Craig Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 Slag off MA all you wish, we got into the positions to be giving leads away, surely Adams should be praised for that aswell...
Guest Daniel Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 Thats no ****ing use though is it? Like BMW F1 team saying, well we were in the lead at one point when Schumacher was in the pits, but we didnt stay there. Kids these days honestly...
Craig Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 Well you're basing your criticism on the last 5 minutes of each game, im basing my praise on the first 85 minutes. All you do is whinge whinge whinge. Some of your points are valid, and i respect your opinion most of the time as i would want others to respect mine, but your constant Adams bashing is getting boring now. You moan when he brings on subs, you moan when he doesn't. The bloke can't win can he.
Guest Daniel Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 Yeah. He could win by bringing on the right subs at the right time, just like MON used to. I think thats a fair point.
Hullfox Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 I would remind everyone of the original post. Should we sack Adams because he never had the money to sign Viduka, Hasselbank, Reiziger and Zenden? If you honestly believe yes....................
Stuliasz Posted 17 September 2004 Posted 17 September 2004 I'm going to be specific here because I know people have been criticising MA for his subs against Sheff Utd but I think a lot of managers would have done the same thing, we were under the kosh so bring on some fresh legs to try and keep them out. Tiatto yeh fine, ran around like an animal and even got booked working for the cause and Blake was brought on to hold the ball up, its not Adams' fault he was unable to do it on the night. Your point about Martin O'Neill making the right subs at the right time, he didn't always get it right. I'm sure there were occasions where fans disagreed with subs that he made. I wasn't a season ticket holder for most of O'Neill's reign so I wouldn't know but every manager makes subs that the fans don't agree with. Besides read these words, Martin O'Neill was a ONE OFF. He is one of the best if not the best manager to ever manage the club. Problem is the fans have set their expectations far too high because of that special period in the club's history. What goes up must come down at some stage.
