Not so much clever but worth a mention, my brother in law, Ian Neale, was a British gymnast and represented Great Britain in many competitions, most notably at the Montreal Olympics in 1976.

Ian Neale - Wikipedia

Six weeks ago he noticed a weakness in his right leg. Sadly, he was subsequently diagnosed with a life limiting brain tumour.

We went to see him yesterday at his home in Chesterfield. How someone so fit and strong to be an Olympic gymnast in his younger days, can now be so frail and weak is... I don't know the words.

He competed across the world, To see his medals and trophies that he's accumulated during his gymnastics career and the photo's of him in full flight, and then to see him now... struggling to walk, needing a walking frame, unable to climb stairs
