I’m going to do a few short bursts of claps every game to motivate other fans. I’m also going to buy a notebook and pen so I can doodle when the football becomes unwatchable

I recommend buying a few pens (and probably a couple more notebooks).

Fans are to blame for doing nothing about it.

Laughed out the door a year ago for announcing I was voting with my feet. If only people had actually listened rather than branding me (and others) as self entitled.

However, after reading someone’s post on here about how deeply entrenched Rodgers’ ‘philosophy’ is here, extending beyond the first team, and his input in the training ground design, (it seems like Top wanted him to become our Arsene Wenger or SAF) I’m not sure how much difference it would’ve made.

Yeah and the atmosphere in the ground when we were doing well in early 19/20 was fine, as it was in the cup run and given the limited numbers because of covid our fans gave a great account of themselves at Wembley too.

But the post title winning years have seen a lot of inconsistency, a lot of disappointment, a lot of significant drops in form and a lot of frustration and that's obviously had an impact on people's morale.

The atmosphere in the ground is largely tied to the wider, broader morale of the fan base more than the quality of the football on display minute by minute. When the mood is shit people are quieter, it isn't rocket science.

I don’t even think it’s that.

We romped home to winning the championship in what must’ve been the most enjoyable season I’ve ever witnessed (even after what followed) We’ve achieved roughly 85 other clubs fans dreams of winning the Premier League. We’ve finally won the FA Cup. We’ve knocked out Sevilla in the Champions League- how the heck can anyone be expected to get up for Palace at home?

It’s been the best 10 years of my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world. However, as a group of fans of one club it’s probably collectively the worst thing that could’ve happened in terms of future atmosphere and desire to win anything else.

It’s like shagging the fittest bird in the world for 8 years solid. What’s the point in pulling a local girl down the pub when you’ve been doing what you’ve been doing before her?

Agreed. Which is why the club should be pushing a lot more than they do for younger fans and introduce cheaper tickets for younger fans.
