Yeah the whole stuff with Wit was bizarre, sometimes forgot I wasn't reading Farseer Trilogy as the character is practically identical to The Fool.

Is the trilogy any good? Am not asking for much, I just want consistency be it average or great and for the writer to not be so enamoured with his word-count

Finished the first book of the farseer trilogy last night and i have to say it was a decent read. It started very strong and then mellowed-out for the rest of the book(it gave me the same feeling as The Name of the Wind at the start).

It was word-dense but refreshingly well-edited with attention to detail but few embellishments. The characters are decent but i failed to connect with the main character despite the events of the novel told from his point of view. The Fool i felt was more a seer-figuer weary of the future  compared to The Wit who is a powerful, knowledgeable entity "fooling around". Both charismatic nonetheless.
