Flagged emails disappeared

Hi 

wondered if anyone can help. 

Over half of my flagged emails have disappeared from my email on iphone,  I have tried searching but nowhere to be found. 

I had saved some important login stuff etc on the flagged mails. 
 

Im running gmx email through the standard mail app on iphone

I randomly 'lost' all my emails on my iPhone a while back, I logged into my email account and they were still showing there so that was piece of mind, check that first, I then looked into why they weren't showing on my iPhone, turned out the 'Mail Days to Sync' options had somehow been switched to 1 month, meaning they weren't deleted but they'd be cleared off the iPhone after that time period.

 

Settings > Mail > Accounts (Select the account in question if you have more than one) > Mail Days to Sync > No Limit.

 

If this is the problem the emails that have disappeared should reappear on your iPhone.
