Guest freund Posted 12 October 2004 Posted 12 October 2004 Tony Cottee 20/1   Cottee nearly destroyed Barnet - Took charge half way through a season when they were midtable, then got them relegated.... Ask any Barnet fan about Cottee, none will be too pleasant.... 26076 Yes, my second team is Barnet, I dislike Cottee. The first game he beat Blackpool 7 - 1, then he got rid of all the decent players, got Barnet relegated and then buggered off. 26205 Freund, how about Paul Fairclugh? He seems a good manager. Do you think he would be capable of stepping up to the City challenge? Got a great result at the weekend. In another thread, I suggested him as a possible 26211 Well he seems like a good prospect. To be fair, Barnet haven't really played any of the title contenders yet this season. On Saturday they play Carlisle and then have a hard run of games. It will be interesting to see if the confidence can hold or if Barnet aren't really up to it. And obviously Conference to Championship would be a big step up.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 12 October 2004 Posted 12 October 2004 How did Barnet do last season and was Fairclough in charge then?
Guest freund Posted 12 October 2004 Posted 12 October 2004 How did Barnet do last season and was Fairclough in charge then? 26276 He came to Barnet in March or April of this year, I think, when Martin Allen went to Brentford. Barnet reached the playoffs and they lost to Shrewbury who went up. Fairclough is also the manager of the England non-league team!

He's a brilliant character.
