Muz Posted 14 October 2004 Posted 14 October 2004 Just thought i would try and summarise of the top 6 favourites to take over as our manager! Gary McAllister 7/2-Im not too sure about Gary Mac as our manager!Obviuosly alot of people would like too see him is our manager purely because he is a Leicester legend!In the first full season at Coventry he did not achieve alot.He finished in 20th position which is not good going.But at the start of his last season he started to get hte hang of things.His coventry side was sitting in 11 th postion when he left.This is not a bad position taking in to account he has no money to work with but neither would he here! Dave Bassett 6/1-Did litle when he was in charge the first time round.And although he has a vast amount of experience in management i would not like to say him in our hotseat. Howard Wilkinson 6/1-Again he has been in management many years but again would not be happy seing him in charge.Most of this is because he did such a disgraceful job at Sunderland! Steve Cotterill 8/1-This is 50/50 for me.When he was assistant at Sunderland he got alot of flak.But before that he did a great job at Cheltenham getting them to the 3 rd division play off final.He then came to us and from the time he joined untill the time he left out defence tightended up dramatically.Now he is manager of Burnley and they are doing very well.They focus on defence and pride themselves on making it hard for teams to break them down!I have no doubt that if he was our manager our defense would really tighten up.But i still dont believe he is the right man for the job! Bryan Robson 10/1-It's a No from me.At Boro he had alot of money and he brought in alot of players.In that season Middlesboro got releagated and many believe that it was because he is a poor judge of players and bought the wrong attitudes into the club. Mike Newell 10/1-Mike is my favourite to take over has Leicester manager.As i posted before i went to watch Luton against Wednesday.And i was very impressed with the style of play Luton use.There was very little long balls and most of it was passed around the midfield and then given to the wingers.From this the Wingers ran into the box and knocked balls not only in the air for the like of Brooker to get on to.But they played quick balls acroos the face of goal for Vine to nip on to.I think this would benefit City because instead of playing the ball in the air to dublin the likes of Harper and Wilcox could whip in fast balls for Conners to poke in.I think we would score many more goals if balls were played on the floor to Connolly instead of miles over his head.Also i think Williams would be in superb form if we played it to him instead of the usual Pressman - Scowy - they're keeper!
