Running-Ball

Recommended Posts

I work for a company called Running-Ball which provides bookmakers with the latest up to the minute news and broadcasts, and I have a proposal which I hope will interest some of you.

We are currently looking for people to go to football games and provide our clients with updates about the game for the entire ninety minutes by mobile telephone. For doing this for us you would be paid on a game-by-game basis and we would look to cover the cost, or of your ticket and travel expenses as well as paying you a fee.

Who is Running-Ball?

Running-Ball has only recently been set up but is owned by a much larger company which has been providing bookmakers with the latest up to the minute news and broadcasts for the last nine years.

What exactly are we looking for?

We are looking for people to attend games where they will be paid to provide live updates to our clients who will use this information to offer live betting abroad. You must have a basic understanding of football, be at least 16 years old and able to attend matches on a reasonably regular basis.

For which leagues are you looking for commentators?

The Championship

English League 1

Spanish La Segunda

German Bundesliga 2

French Ligue I

Belgian Jupiler League

Holland Casino Eredivisie

Chilean I

Mexican I

USA MLS

Czech Republic

How will you provide the commentary?

You will receive a call from our client just before the match starts and for the whole game you will be on the phone to our client who will ask you questions when needed and you will have to give comments on the flow of the game for example, and let our client know when events such as goals, cards and substitutions occur. Here is a list of what the commentary involves:

- saying where the ball is on the pitch (SAFE)

- when it is in or near the area (DANGER)

- when a goal is scored

- flow of the game, substitutions (including shirt numbers)

- red cards

- yellow cards.

- answering any questions that the client has.

So what do you need?

All you will need is a fully charged mobile phone to receive our client’s call and a ticket to get into the stadium (preferably in a “quiet†area), which we will pay for. Once you have committed to a game we will expect you to stick to your word. Finally, you will be required to be a natural English speaker or at least pretty fluent in English so that our client is able to understand what you are saying and communicate clearly and precisely with you.

How much do you pay and what for?

We will cover the price of your ticket and your expenses (within reason – we will check the prices with you before we employ you). On top of this you will be paid a fee for your services so in effect you are getting paid to watch the game. This will vary from country to country because of the price of tickets etc…

How and when do I get paid?

You will get on a match-by-match basis and our preferred method of payment is Moneybookers, however, we can arrange other payment methods to suit your needs but if these incur any charges, you will have to pay those charges.

What happens if I cannot make a match?

Providing you tell us in advance you cannot make a match it is acceptable as we will not offer it to our client but once you have committed it to it, we expect you to do it as we are paying you a decent fee for the very fact we expect you to be reliable and serious about this job.

When can I start?

We are looking for people all of the time and once we have spoken with you to check everything is OK and that you are ready to work, we will just wait until you tell us when the first game you can attend is and go from there.

How do I get in contact?

If this is a job that interests you then send an email stating your name, a contact email address (preferably with an option for Instant Messenger I.e. MSN) and which team (s) you are able to cover to [email protected]

Found this on the Plymouth Argyle message boards and thought it might be of interest to people to earn a few extra dollars when they go to footie ? Sorry if already be posted.

I've now had a couple of emails back from them.

Their rates are VERY reasonable!

However, they now have a pool of commentators, so I don't know if they'll take on anyone else.

Many thanks for bringing this to our attention. :):D

  • 2 weeks later...

I did a commentary yesterday at the Walsall-Barnsley game.

It was a VERY good day out, especially when I heard the score from Bradford.. lol

But I have to report Tommy Wright has definitely gone downhill since he left us!

I don't think he was that far up the hill when he was with us!!

I think everyone got carried away because of his name and the fact he was a local lad the truth was that he was a very average footballer

He had his moment in the sun when he scored the winner against the trees.

But other than that, he really didn't do that much.
