if you win a bid, how long do you have to pay for the item?

i've just bid for something but it ends in 3 days, but i've only just stuck money into paypal so it will take another week or so before i can actually pay for it?

It depends what the sellers requirements are. I dont think you actually need to put money into paypal, if its linked to your bank account/credit card it goes straight out via that. What does it say in the postage bit of the auction?

Im sure they would be ok with that. I sell a fair bit on ebay and id rather people tell me they have a problem etc than just not say anything at all. Communication is the key :D

You can actually now send payments via Paypal without the need to sign-up I believe.

If you have online banking you could check online to see if the transaction has occured already.

Failing that they may accept other forms of payment, cheque, Nochex (if they are a seller you should be able to send them a payment without registering for an account).

even if you dont communicate the seller has to wait 7 days before actioning a 'non paying bidder' request. And then as long as you dont communicate with the buyer you still have a further 7 days to pay.

however, as kayteh says it is better to let them know. but only after you win otherwise they might block you buying if they think you wont pay.
