Lineker's Left Foot Posted 7 May 2006 Share Posted 7 May 2006 Well it brings back the memories when City survived in the old Second Division having to beat Oxford United on the last day of the season with them safe in mid-table. Also it sweeps away the cobwebs in my memory to remember that they beat QPR 3-0 in 1985/86 in the League Cup ??? Just saying how amazing that times change that a club of their zize has gone down. Always thought they were a nice, friendly club and feel it's such a shame that a club - which I can remember being in the top-flight - is now in non-league football !!! Didn't they used to have some old greats like John Aldridge, Ray Houghton, Dean Saunders, Tommy Caton ???
Chairman of the Bored Posted 7 May 2006 Share Posted 7 May 2006 Oxford and Cambridge in the Conference. A very intellectual League, apart from the Aldershot fans. Jeez, they're nutters!
