Ash Posted 22 July 2004 Posted 22 July 2004 IMO its Deffinetly Dickov , He brought a lot to the team - Aggression,Pace and Work Rate , Also he would score just as much goals as Les would in the championship , but Les was a great player for us and scored alot of important goals for us , but i dont think he will be missed that much , because Les was just the goal scorer , and nothing else really , ok maybe the big man upfront but Dublin can do that now . Dickov was a great player and you lot WILL realise it as soon as the season starts , I already feel it in the friendlies ive been to .You lot might hate him because he left us but i dont , he is still my hero and legend , And you lot know that he is a great player and you would of loved him to stay . Mark Posted 22 July 2004 Posted 22 July 2004 What about Bent? Whenever he was in the team we went forward a lot better, more often with added pace. I'd choose Bent. We'll miss all 3 equally, they have all moved on to premiership clubs so that showed how well they performed last season. Connolly and Dublin are both quality replacements for Ferdinand and Dickov.

Jonno Posted 22 July 2004 Posted 22 July 2004 Connolly & Dublin is better than Dickov & Ferdinand if anything. I know that'll get laughed at, but Connolly is a better quality player than Dickov is, exactly the same mould and just as hard working, but a better finisher. Before you laugh and look at Dublins last year, look at the couple of years before Ferdinand joined us. He barely even played for West Ham as they got relegated.
