davieG Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 Weller Memorial Service Announced Leicester City will hold a service in the memory of Keith Weller at the Walkers Stadium ahead of the Championship fixture against Plymouth. Fans are invited to join club officials and ex-players at the memorial garden on Saturday, November 27 at 12:45pm. Weller sadly lost his battle against a rare form of cancer last Friday night and the club held a minute's silence in his honour ahead of the Sunderland game. Club Chaplin Graham Spencer will take the 30-minute service. Club co-ordinator Alan Birchenall said: "We wanted to give everyone the chance for everyone to say their own goodbyes to one of the greatest players that has every pulled on a Leicester City shirt." A three minute video tribute containing some of Weller's finest moments can currently be viewed on Leicester City World.
Guest Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 Wonder if many will go? I know the Garden of Remembrance is lovely and all that, but the thought of sending off one of our greats from the club car park doesn't seem right!

Cynical little me!
Craig Posted 17 November 2004 Posted 17 November 2004 Why don't they open the stadium 30 mins early, and hold the service inside there. Least we'd all be able to hear over the PA system whats being said.
