Capello had been the frontrunner for the role for some time, with the victory of Ramon Calderon at the club's presidential elections over the weekend paving the way for his appointment. The Italian resigned from his position at beleaguered Juventus on Tuesday and made the trip to the Spanish capital on Wednesday to discuss a deal. The two parties concurred on a three-year contract and Capello is set to be paraded before the world's media on Thursday. The appointment of Capello will be music to the ears of Real fans, as he had a successful spell at the club in the mid-1990s. With a coach now in place, Real can turn their attentions to revamping their squad - with Calderon promising some big-name arrivals at El Santiago Bernabeu. ---- Quite an exit to make from Juve in their current state.
