Wigan Athletic - What A Day

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just got back from Wigan, just wanted to say what an amazing down out.

Left here about 10.15 and got to Wigan just after 12, brilliant time on the motorway and got in the boozer.

Went round a little shopping complex like Fosse Park, and had a Burger King before going in Asda to get some tinnys.

Then about 2 the coaches came in and i met up with Teeno, Ashov, Scowy, Anish and some other chaps.

We went in the ground, sat right at the back where we sung non stop for the whole game, made a brilliant atmosphere and overall, had a brilliant day so thanks alot you lot, made it good. :)

Ill post some pictures later.

Well i've got others, but they're pretty much all views from my numerous seats that i occupied throught the match. So didn't think there was much point in posting them.

I thought it was a great day out too - atmosphere was brilliant but shame about the result and performance. It was a hell of a lot better than the Walkers Stadium, although that ain't saying much.

I'll post some of my pics too - although they will probably be very big so I'll have to limit them to a few.

Anish mate, if you add me to msn ill reduce them all masivly for you and host them if you like?

It was an excellent day out, great atmopshere by our lot. Nice to be able to stand at a game again, just don't think the stewards could be bothered to tell us to sit down. :D

I took a few pics on my Nokia 6230, but haven't got a memory card reader as of yet. Will get that sorted sooner or later. ;)

Oh yeah, I wonder who started singing 'Micky Adams' in the EI EI EI O song...... ;)

Sort yourselves out. ;)

Haha, i was laughing alot when Teeno slipped that out, he went like a tomato when he'd said that, even the people infront heard him. lol

Scowy, i aint got a memory card reader, i used my digital camera. ;)

Cheers for the offer mate, but I just played around in Photoshop and realised that I can change the pixel resolution (from 1200x1600, to 800x600) which will reduce the file size.

I also have loads of unused webspace from my ISP so I've got no probs in hosting the files.

In other words, you dont want me on your msn. lol

Anish, do you know a woman called Tara (think that's how it's spelt) who looks after the people on Fox travel bus 2? She said your name to someone on the phone. Was it you she was talking about or another Anish?

Great day. We took loads of supporters and out sang Wigan easilly, all game. Shame we couldn't nick a winner but a point away against the leaders isn't bad at all.

No, I don't know Tara - but I'm sure she was talking about me cos I made a huge balls up this morning when I turned up to the WS and realised that I'd forgotten my travel ticket and my Wigan ticket. I tried telling the people in charge of the coaches to wait another 10-15 mins for me to go back home and grab my tickets, but they were having none of it. Thankfully the Scottish bloke on Coach 1 sorted it out for me and I got a free replacement ticket when I got to Wigan :)

nice pics yellow teeth :D

jon, we never sing at home, no doubt we'll outsing you at the crisp bowl.

why does every club who come to the jjb think they took loads? the amount of fans you brought was pathetic for a so called big club like yourselves.

anyway, you came for a draw and got it, cant see you doing owt at all in this division, we had the better/most chances and the finishing let us down for not the first time this season

Yellow teeth?

Good insult that, them yellow teeth have been round more pussy than yours will ever be. ;)

Shame you didnt come and meet me little one, why not meet me at the bowl?

What a terrible team and a shocking club, we sung you silly. ;)

Oh so you were the one holding all the coaches up then!

We were told that someone on coach 1 had forgotten their match ticket and that coach 2 couldn't leave until 1 did. That Scots man will be happy. He's a Rangers supporter.

Don't let bitterness get in the way of an objective opinion.

We had most of the play, possession, and a few clear cut chances. Nalis and Morris to name a few. We should also have had a penalty when Morris was felled by one of your lumps at the back. We didn't come for the draw, we played to win the game. Some of your play was shocking at times, you hoofed it so many times up to Ellington and Roberts, who couldn't get past the might Keown. :)

You had a few chances in the second half when you were on top for about a 15 minute period, apart from that, we controlled the game, we just lacked that killer punch in the final third.

Where's this so called passing game? lol We made you look very ordinary....

Your home support is pathetic. I can understand with the lack of numbers, but you rarely made an attempt to encourage your team, except for the random smashing of the chairs in your family stand.
