Seems like alot of people are all mouth and no action espcially when it comes to staying around in the cold. We gave up in digust and went home. No effort, no commitment, no emtion, and fans complain about the players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A JOKE!!!!!

A warm welcome to the Tigers, the biggest rugby club in the country and from our home town! What have Martin Johnson and Gary Lineker got in common....best of their generation and from LEICESTER!!!...that's what it's all about!

At least if it happens we went down fighting. How did you find out about the site?
BLUEKESTREL Posted 27 November 2004 Posted 27 November 2004 If you want to become the 2nd rate team in our own stadium, it looks like you'll get what you want. I for one don't. If I want to watch rugby I'll do it at a rugby ground. I go to the Walkers to watch football sitting on a blue seat. What's good about it, we'll pwn 50% of a ground and still have no decent players!!!!!!
BLUEKESTREL Posted 27 November 2004 Posted 27 November 2004 Found out about the site on the LCFC Website message board (which is actually down at the moment), we had alot of people telling us they agreed with our message but only a few who would actually sit down and join us. They say Leicester supporters are fairweather fans, looks like they are right. The Board of Directors are LIARS!!!!!! Always have been and always will be!!!!!!!!!! Thus club will never have any money with or without the Tigers. By the way could you see our 'No Tigers in the Foxes Den' Banner from the Kop?
Guest Daniel Posted 27 November 2004 Posted 27 November 2004 Nice one, was hoping some fans joined up after reading the banners.

TrickyTrev Posted 27 November 2004 Posted 27 November 2004 Glad their was a poor turnout and I was not surpised. The no sayers can continue to argue their point but will not be able to play the 'majority of true fans are oppossed' card anymore. Reaslly you won't have to watch any Rugnby so why are you saying you will? If You can't even think of an arguement without making up fantasy situations maybe you should reconsider your opinions?

Oh and that first line of you post shows how little compassion you have for the club, seeing $ signs like the idiots that are our board! And all before the game I was handing out a few posters, I was going up to people asking them wether they were for or against the groundshare. Only 1 person out of about 30/40 I asked was for, and that is no lie.

Less than 50 stayed behind for the sit in, but if this goes ahead, and then the inevitable conflict occurs on a number of levels, then you've only got yourselves to blame....

They just have a different viewpoint. I stayed for 5 minutes after the game but only because I was queueing to get out. the people I spoke to were about 75%/25% not opposed to the idea in principle. Now that's not saying that 75% were definitely for but they weren't against either. Personally, with the arguments I've seen and heard against the proposal, I don't think that the "No" people will win many new supporters. When you keep seeing phrases like "egg chuckers" and "peanut huggers" and people not wanting to sit on green seats, it doesn't particularly inspire me. It's humourous the first time but has no substance. Now if someone could convince me that it is impossible to have a top quality pitch and the money just didn't add up, then I'm with you. As it stands however I'm not convinced thats been done.
Hullfox Posted 28 November 2004 Posted 28 November 2004 Scowy, Tell me more about the inevitable conflict, that's a discussion that could sway me.

King Kyle lcfc Posted 28 November 2004 Posted 28 November 2004 In the kop it was funny because there was about 50 of us in the concourse throughout the second half and stayed for about 15 mins after singing and being sold beer for a pound and just watched the game on the tv and i think we made more noise down there then the rest of the stadium

We already are a second rate team. Like it or not. 2. If you want to watch rugby you can watch it at the walkers aswell. How does that affect us/you - explain please? 3. "You go to the walkers to watch football" Explain how that is going to change? Unless you really arn't that bright and your going to turn up to the rugby by accident. I tell you what, if you get yourself a fixture list you won't have to watch any rugby at the walkers because you'll be able to stay away from the ground.
Guest Posted 28 November 2004 Posted 28 November 2004 It's bound to cause conflict, isn't it. The next time the RU World Cup is help for a start. Are they not going to consider using the largest capacity club ground? Then there's corporate events etc etc. Some are held annually at City, others at Welford Road. When something clashes, who's going to back down? At the moment City can make money when the team are away, by the fact they can hire the function rooms out for weddings, exhibitions, parties etc. Next season, they will make no money at all on these days. City have been granted a public entertainment licence. Now 50% of this potential revenue will be given to the Tigers. I'm sorry but all I can see is money rolling in to the rugby club whilst we see no benefit. Our debt might be reduced, but so will our income.

Even if we do hold one it won't be hard to organise it so the Walkers Stadium games are not on a Saturday will it? Economically speaking I find it funny that the supoorters seem to think they have better judgement that trained business men, administrators and economists in reference to our finances. Call me a mug but when these people say they feel it will benefit us financially I tend to believe them, after all it is not in their interests for the clubs finances to get worse is it? I do accept they can make mistakes though, but I see their arguements. Firstly we have to be granted permission not only from the council but also the Teahcers company eveverytime we use the stadium for public entertainemnt as it is owned by them. We will no longer have to go through this no doubt tiresome and expensive administrative process. With the raised profile of the Stadium, that I hope you conceed, their will be more of these events and they will be bigger, thus sharing the costs will be made easier. I don't see why you think they will stop having functions at the Stadium? My Mum had her graduation at the Walkers and it was held midweek, again why would this stop? Thirdly we are halving MASSIVE maintanence costs. The cost of running a staidum that size is astronomical and we cut effectively cut this in two. This is c lear and obvious redeuced cost. Add onto this the ending of a massive debt that is a threat to the future of any company then it is clear to me fiancially it will be beneficial. Now the only arguemnts I can see left are the egg chassers and greenseats rants, both of which are pathetic. I guess that explains my like of compassion. <_<

Even if we do hold one it won't be hard to organise it so the Walkers Stadium games are not on a Saturday will it? There aren't many nations who can hold this tournament, it isn't like the football world cup. I think we are scheduled to hold one within the next few years. Besides, the extra use on the pitch, with a number of games within a short space of time will do the pitch the world of good. Economically speaking I find it funny that the supoorters seem to think they have better judgement that trained business men, administrators and economists in reference to our finances.Call me a mug but when these people say they feel it will benefit us financially I tend to believe them, after all it is not in their interests for the clubs finances to get worse is it? I do accept they can make mistakes though, but I see their arguements. The kind of figures I have heard will be less than 5% of our turnover. This is not enough for me to sell our soul. I'm sorry, but how will this raise our profile. Football is played all over the world, it is the biggest spectator sport in a hell of a lot of countries. Rugby is played in a some Commonwealth countries with a few others dotted here or there. With a few exceptions, it is a minority sport. If they haven't heard of Leicester City, they certainly won't have heard of the Tigers. As for asking permission t use the stadium, both City and Tigers need to borrow funds to finance this deal. So neither club will own their share outright anyway, and the same permission might be needed from our new lenders, and the Tiger's creditors. I don't see why you think they will stop having functions at the Stadium? My Mum had her graduation at the Walkers and it was held midweek, again why would this stop? I said that we would not host functions when City are away ie. the Tigers will be using the stadium. Thirdly we are halving MASSIVE maintanence costs. The cost of running a staidum that size is astronomical and we cut effectively cut this in two. This is c lear and obvious redeuced cost.Add onto this the ending of a massive debt that is a threat to the future of any company then it is clear to me fiancially it will be beneficial. See above comments regarding finances. Now the only arguemnts I can see left are the egg chassers and greenseats rants, both of which are pathetic. I guess that explains my like of compassion. <_< Don't think I've used either of those arguments yet.
Hullfox Posted 28 November 2004 Posted 28 November 2004 There aren't many nations who can hold this tournament, it isn't like the football world cup. I think we are scheduled to hold one within the next few years. Besides, the extra use on the pitch, with a number of games within a short space of time will do the pitch the world of good. Pure speculation. Many of the world cup games in rugby will not need stadia holding 32,000. Papua New Guinea versus Rumania could probably be held in my back garden. There are plenty of other grounds too that will accomodate rugby matches and have done in the past. Old Trafford, Elland Road, JJB, Huddersfield (previously the McAlpine), KC Stadium, Vicarage Road, Loftus Road. Add on to that the likes of The Millenium Stadium, Cardiff Arms Park, Murrayfield, Landsdowne Road, Twickenham and the New Wembley, and I don't think therefore that the Walkers will be too heavily burdened. The kind of figures I have heard will be less than 5% of our turnover. This is not enough for me to sell our soul. Figures I like. What is our annual turnover? Any PLC that has an opportunity to improve it's financial position by £5 for every £100 it turns over, has to give serious consideration to it. Selling our soul is an argument of the heart, not the head. I'm sorry, but how will this raise our profile. Personally I don't care if our profile is raised or not. I just want us to be stable financially and good at playing football. As long as I can be convinced about the money and the pitch I'll be happy.
Scow Posted 28 November 2004 Posted 28 November 2004 Scowy,Tell me more about the inevitable conflict, that's a discussion that could sway me. 40893[/snapback] Seemingly as it will be a 50/50 agreement, who get's the final say on any issue? What about prioritisation of fixtures? What about key decisions made behind the scenes? Who get's what part of the ground? Who decides where and when they can use the ground? What happens if there is a clash of personalities on the boards? I can see this ending in tears. It's 50/50 all the way, no one will have a final say.
Guest Posted 28 November 2004 Posted 28 November 2004 Any of the original 5 Nations sides (not England) v Australia or South Africa would be a huge turnout. It's these games they'll be thinking of. Plus, these kind of tournaments are trying to capitalise on corporate hospitality, and we have some of the best facilities. It may be specualtion, but it is possible. As for the money, 5% is the maximum we'd save. My source has said that buying the WS outright is a possiblilty and although more costlier, I would rather we did this for the long term future of the club, not a short term financial gain.
